The next day.

Wei Lin was jolted awake by the sound of thunderous snoring.

His head was splitting, and he was consumed by an unbearable thirst. Opening his eyes, he found himself lying on the carpet beside the sofa. The clothes he had worn when he left home were now stained with vomit.

Not far away, Fu Jintang lay on the bed, still fully dressed, one leg dangling off the edge in a sprawling, unrefined sleeping posture. On the nightstand sat the clothes she had changed out of, along with a purple lace bra and a matching pair of panties. Between the open suitcase and the haphazardly scattered documents, accessories, and debris, the room, filled with a peculiar odor, looked utterly chaotic.

"Water!"

Wei Lin scrambled up to search for water, only to find the mineral water bottles already empty. He had no choice but to rush to the bathroom sink and gulp down tap water to quench his thirst. After chugging from the faucet, he moved to the toilet to relieve himself.

"Ugh..."

The floor around the toilet and the bowl itself were covered in vomit. Feeling unwell to begin with, the sight of the disgusting mess made Wei Lin immediately retch into the toilet. He vomited with such intensity it felt as if he were tearing himself apart. He vaguely remembered that all the liquor from the night before had been finished—two 700ml bottles of 40% proof spirits, totaling nearly three pounds!

"Just how much did I drink?"

In that moment, Wei Lin felt a surge of disdain for his own alcohol tolerance. His capacity for half a catty of liquor was nothing compared to Fu Jintang’s; having her take care of him all night made him feel truly ashamed.

"Well, at least I was too drunk to do anything regrettable," he murmured, feeling a mix of relief and disappointment.

Returning to the sink to splash his face with cold water and brush his teeth, he felt slightly more sober. Habitually, he checked the progress bar for her affection.

Affection: 12.5/100.

Wei Lin, who hadn't paid attention to the bar since heading to the Yangyanghong nightclub, was surprised to see it had increased by 7.5 points overnight. Five points came from Lin Nanxi, one from his ex-wife Liu Qi, and one from Gao Xue. The remaining half-point, surprisingly, was provided by Fu Jintang.

He focused his attention on that half-point and saw a blurred memory replay: He was lying on the sofa, incoherent, his shirt stained with vomit, slurring, "I'm not drunk... I can still drink."

"With a tolerance like that, you have the nerve to keep me company?" Fu Jintang, standing nearby, handed him a bottle of water and leaned in to inspect him, chuckling, "If you hadn't thrown up everywhere, I would’ve suspected you were faking it."

The vision faded.

"Sigh, there’s no such thing as basic trust between people anymore," Wei Lin muttered. He stripped off his clothes in the bathroom and stepped into the shower, stark naked.

That 0.5 affection point was real. Even after getting that drunk and vomiting like that, not only did he fail to annoy Fu Jintang, but he had actually gained her favor.

"This jerk really doesn't treat himself like an outsider."

On the bed, Fu Jintang had already been awakened by the sound of Wei Lin retching into the toilet. Hearing the splashing water in the shower, she knew he was washing up; if she went to the bathroom now, she would see him completely exposed.

She liked to have fun, but she wasn't promiscuous. From the moment she summoned Wei Lin, she simply wanted someone pleasant to look at to join her for a drink in a strange city. It was just like hiring a male model at a club—purely for the company, with no strings attached.

"Still, he’s a decent guy."

Thinking of how Wei Lin had rushed over to accompany her, how he had picked out a male model with an even more exaggerated singing voice to play games with her, how he had settled the bill early, and how he had kept drinking with her despite his low tolerance, the corners of Fu Jintang’s lips curled into a smile.

"Just a bit of a scumbag, though."

After returning last night, she had used her own methods to book the room and discovered there were actually many vacancies in the hotel. Connecting this to the odd behavior of the duty manager, she had once suspected Wei Lin was faking drunkenness and had colluded with the staff. But seeing him vomit his guts out had dispelled that doubt. Wei Lin really was drunk, yet the manager’s strange behavior still spoke volumes—he clearly came here to open rooms often.

"Whether he’s a scumbag or not has nothing to do with me."

Checking the time on her phone, Fu Jintang sat up, waiting for Wei Lin to finish his shower.

"Last night, Tang Qiang from Qi Feng approached Mr. Anderson and lowered the unit price to 11."

As soon as Wei Lin finished showering and returned in his dirty clothes, he heard Fu Jintang say this.

"I knew I couldn't hide it from Tang Qiang when I took you all to visit the other three factories." Wei Lin sat on the sofa, facing Fu Jintang, and asked with a smile, "How did Mr. Anderson respond?"

Fu Jintang looked intrigued and asked in return, "Do you think visiting your place would be enough to hide it from him?"

"My Uncle An is much stricter with company management than those three. Our employees at Xinlin have a strong sense of belonging and identity; no one would tip off Qi Feng." Wei Lin appeared very confident.

"Hmm. Although your company is small, we could see you were different from the others. That’s why Anderson was willing to set the price at 10 and asked you to keep an eye on the other three." Fu Jintang paused before continuing, "Anderson doesn't like people who go back on their word, so he refused him flat out."

"And then..." She stared into Wei Lin's eyes, and noticing him grow slightly nervous, she added, "Then, Tang Qiang lowered the unit price to 10!"

Wei Lin offered a bitter smile. At the same unit price, Xinlin, combined with the other three companies, had no advantage over Qi Feng. Qi Feng guaranteed quality and delivery times, and it was a famous major domestic manufacturer. Before the contract was officially signed, Anderson had plenty of reasons to back out. Moreover, Fenglin had never collaborated with a small factory like Xinlin before.

While Fu Jintang remained silent, Wei Lin was in agony. Through the affection system, he had seen this opportunity, fought for it with everything he had, drank until he lost consciousness, and did everything in his power. No matter the final result, he had no regrets.

Just as Wei Lin was suffering in the suspense, Fu Jintang, who had been silent for a long time, suddenly smiled. "I’ll go wash up, and then we’ll go to your company to sign the contract."

A burst of incredible, joyful light erupted in Wei Lin's eyes!

"I said, Anderson doesn't like people who go back on their word. Tang Qiang’s methods successfully angered him, so he rejected even the price of 10." Fu Jintang gave him the answer.

As Wei Lin beamed like a fool, she added, "When I go to wash up, you better behave yourself outside. If I catch even a glimpse of you, the order is off the table!"

"Sis!" Wei Lin’s "Sis" was incredibly sweet. He kept his goofy grin and said obsequiously, "Actually, there's no need to go through all that trouble. I have the contract and my company seal right here with me!"

Fu Jintang: "..."

"I prepared the contract as soon as I got home last night." Wei Lin chuckled and explained, "When you called me to drink, I thought that instead of having you make another trip to my company tomorrow, I might as well bring everything with me."

"Sis, don't misunderstand! I know you’re busy and didn't want you to worry or be troubled." As he spoke, he pulled out the contract, the seal, and his fountain pen, laying them out one by one on the small desk.

"If I recall correctly, someone sent me a message first asking if I wanted to have a drink?" Fu Jintang huffed.

"Haha! That was me, that was me! But I was drunk, wasn't I? I forgot a lot of things from last night!"

Wei Lin spread out the contract, picked up his pen, and signed his name with a flourish, then stamped it with a loud "thud." He said, "The contract for our foreign clients is no different from the one with Qi Feng, Sis. Take a look."

Fu Jintang, who had already made up her mind, didn't make things difficult for him. After carefully checking the terms and confirming everything was in order, she took out her seal and stamped it as well. Finally, she signed her own name.

This left Wei Lin stunned, his gaze toward Fu Jintang shifting slightly.

"For your company, this is a massive order, but for Fenglin and Anderson, it isn't." Fu Jintang saw what he was thinking and smiled radiantly. "An order like this doesn't even require Anderson’s personal signature; I can handle it on his behalf."

"Sis, next time you come to Linjiang, I’ll find you the best headliner in the city!" Wei Lin patted his chest, speaking as solemnly as if swearing an oath to the nation. "If you don't like the ones at the male model club, I’ll call up all my brothers and let you pick one by one!"

Fu Jintang didn't speak, just looked at him with a half-smile.

"And if they aren't good enough, I’ll step in myself!" Wei Lin said, full of righteousness.

Seeing him offer to summon his own brothers to serve as models and hearing him say such things with a straight face, Fu Jintang couldn't help but laugh. "Alright, it’s a deal."

"Sis, to tell you the truth, before I left with the contract and the seal last night, I had actually prepared myself to sell my body to you." Wei Lin grinned as he clutched the contract.

"In your dreams! Get lost!" Fu Jintang was so amused she was practically fuming.
