Dark Night and the Whale-Ink Sword became one; rather than sword and man in perfect union, it was as though the two had truly fused into a single being.

“Break!”

The shout burst from within the blade itself. The enormous sword flickered like an illusion, and in the next instant a thunderous explosion rang out. Space trembled violently. Currents of dark gray spatial force rushed in all directions, and through one shattered point a gentle shaft of sunlight streamed in.

“The unity of man and sword? Interesting...”

The mysterious man gave the Illusory Void Sword in his hand a slight shake, dismissing the riddle-domain that had already been split apart. Gazing at Dark Night, who had already fled far into the distance, he curled his lips into a smile rich with hidden meaning and murmured to himself, “So you’re staking your life on it. Good... only then will the ending be worth anticipating.”

He did not hurry to pursue. Instead, he straightened his robes, put away the Illusory Void Sword, then turned his head and glanced at the void behind him.

“My friend,” he said calmly, “if my judgment is correct, you are wounded. You should find a place and recover. In the Azure Sea and Jade Sky Realm, carrying injuries can be fatal.”

As soon as he finished speaking, silver light flashed around him and he vanished into the void.

After the time it took to drink a cup of tea, a faint ripple stirred in one corner of space. Du Qingfeng, dressed in white, revealed the upper half of his body. His face was still somewhat pale, and as he looked at the place where the two had fought, a strange light flickered in his eyes.

As though sensing something, he turned back to glance behind him, his expression darkened, and he concealed himself once more, fleeing into the distance.

Not long after Du Qingfeng departed, a sharp divine sense swept across the void, and at the same time a deep voice tinged with puzzlement echoed through space.

“Strange. I vaguely sensed my son’s aura, yet now it has vanished again. Could it be... no, impossible. In this realm no one would dare lay a hand on him. Forget it. Perhaps I worry too much. That brat has only ever bullied others; when would anyone ever dare bully him?”

After this brief muttering, the voice and the divine sense both withdrew.

High in the sky, Leng Tian hid himself with a dazed expression, staring at the three people tightly surrounded by the swarm. His heart was shaken beyond measure. He could scarcely believe that anyone could withstand an assault from a Devouring-Origin insect swarm.

At this moment, not far from him in the void opposite, three powerful cultivators were trapped at the center of the swarm. Through the sea of gold he could make them out clearly: two men and one woman, all in the middle stage of the Profound Entry Realm. The two men were actually twin brothers, both short, squat, and grossly fat; every movement sent waves of flesh rippling from head to toe.

The woman, however, possessed a fair measure of beauty. She was protected between the two men. One of them held in his hand a round pearl gleaming with green luster, from which spread a layer of green barrier that firmly enclosed all three of them and kept the swarm from devouring them.

The other man held a green gourd in his palm. From time to time it sprayed out hazy green light that passed through the barrier and swept over the insect swarm. Every sweep would draw in a large number of Devouring-Origin insects, which were then sucked into the green gourd.

As for the woman, autumn-water shimmered in her beautiful eyes as she gazed at the swarm with tender affection. Seeing golden beetles constantly swept up and absorbed by the gourd, she let out a cloying, coquettish laugh.

That laugh might have been nothing to her, but to the two men it was another matter entirely. Their eyes shone brightly, and on their fat-stuffed faces spread lewd smiles. Below the waist, each had already pitched a bulging tent, twitching and bobbing obscenely.

The woman’s glance shifted slightly. Seeing their reaction, her eyes revealed contempt, disgust, and satisfaction all at once.

“Big brother, I’d say these Devouring-Origin insects are nothing much after all,” said the man holding the green pearl dismissively, looking at the beetles outside the barrier. After swallowing great quantities of the green light, their bodies had turned green themselves, and one after another they began dropping through the void.

“Of course,” the other replied. “With your brother’s Poison-Light Miasma, no matter how fierce they are, once they swallow enough toxin they’re bound to die here.”

As he spoke, green light burst from the gourd in his hand again, and another hundred or so golden beetles were sucked into it.

“Oh my, you two elder brothers are truly of heaven-defying skill. Your little sister envies you so very much,” the woman said in a sweetly seductive voice.

At the praise, both men trembled all over. Each stretched out a hand and planted it on one of the woman’s buttocks, kneading hard several times. She gave a coy protest, yet her lips let out breathy moans all the same.

Three-colored light flowed through Leng Tian’s eyes as he took in the trio’s behavior. A look of disgust appeared between his brows, and he withdrew his gaze, no longer wishing to watch.

“These two fat pigs are obvious pig-heads,” Judah suddenly remarked, making Leng Tian unable to suppress a faint smile.

“Hm...”

The man holding the gourd let out a soft sound of surprise and stopped his kneading. A trace of astonishment rose in his heart. Why did the gourd in his hand seem to be growing lighter and lighter? Puzzled, he turned his head to look.

“Ah!”

With a sharp cry, he nearly dropped the gourd. The vessel, once green, had now become somewhat transparent. Through it one could vaguely see densely packed golden beetles writhing inside.

“What’s wrong, big brother?” asked the man holding the pearl. Hearing the cry, he did not understand why his brother had suddenly become so alarmed. But when he turned and looked, he was instantly frightened out of his wits, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.

In only that short moment, the green gourd had changed color completely. From its former green it had turned pale white and nearly transparent. With a crisp crack, the sharp paired mandibles of one beetle pierced through the body of the gourd and emerged outside.

“How... how is this possible?”

Staring at the fragile gourd in his hand, the man’s broad, fatty face quivered without cease from overwhelming panic.

Crack.

Another soul-shaking sound rang out. Fine fissures had already appeared all over the gourd, and they were still spreading.

“Brother, hurry and throw it away! It’s about to burst!” The seductive woman saw the change in the gourd and instantly turned deathly pale. Her eyes filled with terror as she cried out in a trembling voice.

Only then did the man snap out of his stupor. In a flurry, he hurled the gourd out beyond the barrier. The moment it left the shield, it exploded with a tremendous blast. Violent currents of air instantly scattered the insect swarm.

The destruction of the gourd made the man’s face go white at once. He spat out a mouthful of blood and immediately became dispirited and weak; even his body seemed to shrink by a head.

The woman hurriedly reached out to support him, took a small white jade vial from her storage ring, poured out several creamy yellow pills, and fed them to him.

When the energy storm caused by the explosion finally dispersed, the three discovered in horror that the swarm had already gathered again and was still encircling them. Yet now, among the swarm, there had appeared large numbers of green and blue-green Devouring-Origin insects as well.

The beetles that had previously fallen after swallowing large quantities of toxic miasma had not died at all. At some unknown moment they had revived, and now they had become even more ferocious, as if they no longer feared the poison on the barrier.

“My ancient treasure is gone! Gone...”

The man who had lost the gourd burst into tears without the slightest regard for appearances. Judging by the heartbreak on his face, one would think he had lost his most precious possession in all the world. He buried his large head between the woman’s full breasts, his tears soaking through her thin garments and faintly revealing two rosy points beneath.

“A pig-head is a pig-head. He doesn’t even know that Devouring-Origin insects fear no poison whatsoever, and he still dared try to collect them with an ancient treasure. He’s simply digging his own grave,” Judah said lazily, crossing his short little legs, his voice thick with mockery.

Leng Tian, however, showed little outward reaction. Seeing just how formidable the Devouring-Origin insects truly were, he felt not concern but delight. If he could somehow subdue these several thousand beetles, they would become a tremendous hidden weapon for him.

Hearing Judah’s ridicule, a thought stirred in his mind, and he asked, “If the king insect has given them an order, will it keep controlling them continuously? Unless they destroy the designated target, will they never turn back?”

At once Judah’s face blossomed into a grin. Swinging his two short legs, he chuckled. “Boss, don’t worry. As long as they haven’t eaten you, they won’t return to their nest. If you can trap them, then release them at a critical moment, they’ll be a superb weapon for setting people up.”

Leng Tian smiled from the bottom of his heart. Judah’s answer was exactly what he had hoped for. He turned his gaze back to the three people under siege, watching to see whether they could ultimately escape unharmed.

“This is bad! Big brother, the energy in my Poison-Light Miasma is weakening. These damned insects aren’t afraid of poison at all. If this goes on, we’ll be devoured for sure!”

The woman felt intense disgust, but she could not show it. She could only allow the man’s head to remain buried deep between her snowy jade-like breasts. Hearing the panic in the other man’s voice, a trace of fear flashed across her lovely face.

Hearing his brother’s worry, the man stopped bawling. He wiped his snot and tears clean on the woman’s chest, then opened his mouth and sucked once at one of the rosy peaks before giving a satisfied grunt. That sudden bite sent the woman into a shock-like shudder; her whole body went numb with pleasure, and below, a faint trickle of spring-like moisture began to seep forth.

Casting him a glare both reproachful and faintly angry, she pushed him away and said anxiously, “At a time when life and death hang by a thread, you’re still thinking about taking advantage of me. Hurry and think of a way out! Otherwise I’ll be eaten by these insects!”

“Rest easy, little sister. Though your brother’s ancient treasure has been destroyed, escaping these bugs is still more than easy enough for me,” the man said with extreme confidence, puffing out his similarly bulging chest.

The woman burst into peals of laughter. Swaying her waist, she seized the man’s large hand and shook it coquettishly. “Good brother, then hurry and do something. Your little sister is terribly afraid of these insects.” As she spoke, she rubbed her chest against his arm.

Breathing in the woman’s intoxicating fragrance, the man seemed to have been struck with a stimulant. Stepping through the void, he arrived at his brother’s side and said gravely, “There’s only that move left.”

The other’s expression changed. “Big brother, that consumes a great deal of true essence.”

“If we can’t even keep our lives, what does spending some true essence matter?”

As soon as he finished speaking, he opened his huge mouth and inhaled violently. Instantly, vast amounts of air were sucked into his body.

His short, obese frame swelled in a bizarre instant. As he continued inhaling, he expanded and rose like a balloon being pumped full of air. In the blink of an eye, he had terrifyingly grown more than twenty feet taller, transforming into a giant like a mountain.

“Ah...”

The woman behind him, seeing this shocking sight, opened her red little mouth wide. She could not believe that the man who had been short and fat only a moment ago had now become so lofty and imposing. Her eyes rippled with emotion; the disgust she had felt before vanished, replaced by a trace of yearning.

Seeing that his elder brother had completed his transformation, the man holding the Poison-Light Miasma did the same. Before the naked eye, he too transformed into another mountain-like giant.

“Come, little sister, into your brother’s embrace!”

The elder brother turned, spread his arms, and with one sweep gathered the woman’s delicate body against his broad chest. Then his chest and abdomen sank inward, forming a great pit of flesh in which the woman fit perfectly.

She had only just begun to resist when she heard him roar, “Don’t panic, little sister. Watch how your brother’s Invincible Meatball carries you out of danger!”

After speaking, he exchanged a glance with his younger brother. Then both of them wrapped their arms around their knees and curled themselves into giant balls of flesh. With explosive shouts, they began spinning at high speed in place, carrying a fierce gale with them.

In the distance, Leng Tian could only stare in stunned silence. Looking at the two perfectly round mountains of spinning flesh inside the barrier, he could not help but marvel inwardly at the technique these two had cultivated. It was truly something never seen since antiquity.

An absolute masterpiece.
