Chapter 15: You Are Disgusting
“Are you following me?”
I sprang up abruptly, glaring at him with irritation.
“The birthday party over there isn’t even finished yet, so what are you doing here? Leaving a whole group behind and then turning around to say I ruined your party—really...”
Before I could finish, Zhou Chenyang barged in, casting a cold, hostile glance at Qian Yushu. Grabbing my wrist tightly, he forcibly dragged me out of the private room.
I struggled in vain; his grip was so strong that my wrist began to ache.
“Let go! You’re hurting me!”
Though my mind was flooding with curses, I dared not provoke him further with words.
I was afraid he might lose control.
But it was already too late—Zhou Chenyang had lost all reason. Recklessly, he pulled me back into their party room. Before entering, he didn’t forget to warn me.
“Aren’t you mad because I didn’t bring you along? Well, I’m bringing you in now. As my wife, you better behave and stop going around flirting with wild men!”
“Wild men? Don’t talk so harshly...”
“If you talk back again, I’ll take care of you right here.”
His words were vicious.
I shuddered in fear. Honestly, the threat was effective enough to make me genuinely frightened.
“Are you insane?”
In our limited marriage, he had always been cold and indifferent, never interested in intimacy. The few times we had been together were drunken accidents. He never looked at me in bed, nor did he call me by name.
Had he been drinking fake liquor?
It wasn’t surprising I thought this way—today, Zhou Chenyang was acting wildly out of character.
Still, watching his crazed demeanor, I forced myself to stay calm. I followed him back to the room and seized the chance to discreetly send a message to Qian Yushu.
“Finish up and go home first. Wait for my contact.”
Just as the message sent, I sensed someone approaching. Hastily, I deleted the message log.
The next moment, my phone was snatched away.
I stared at Zhou Chenyang in shock and anger, trying to wrest the phone back. He pinned me to the sofa with one hand, scrutinizing the screen over and over.
Finding nothing suspicious, he returned the phone.
Clutching it, I ignored the dumbfounded looks from others, glaring fiercely at Zhou Chenyang.
“Did you forget your medication today?”
He sneered coldly. “Yeah, so you better behave and stop provoking me.”
I held my tongue.
There was no use arguing with a madman.
The atmosphere in the room had become unbearably tense.
Yet Zhou Chenyang seemed oblivious, still gripping my hand tightly as if afraid I would escape.
Zhou Zizi approached cautiously. “Ayan, didn’t Sister Yanyan leave already...”
“It’s fine. Continue.”
His tone was cold and dismissive. Zhou Zizi froze momentarily but didn’t protest, obediently sitting down and not asking further.
After the awkward moment, the mood reignited.
The birthday celebrant stood to toast. Zhou Chenyang raised a glass of wine toward me. I ignored him, poured myself some unopened fruit juice, and took a small sip out of politeness.
He kept the wine raised, insisting, “Drink.”
“I don’t want to.”
Who knew if there was something strange in his wine—poison, perhaps? I’d have to be crazy to drink it.
Suddenly, Zhou Chenyang pulled me into his embrace, forcing the glass to my lips. “Drink!”
I stubbornly stared at him, refusing to open my mouth.
He sneered, “Don’t want to drink what I give you? Then whose do you want? That wild man’s?”
“Ayan, don’t...”
Zhou Zizi sensed the tension and hurried over to intervene.
For the first time, Zhou Chenyang ignored her.
“Tell me, whose drink do you want?”
I didn’t understand why he was fixated on this question. It couldn’t just be jealousy—after thinking it through, there was only one explanation.
His possessiveness had flared.
I replied coolly, “Anyone’s will do, just not yours. Got it?”
Zhou Chenyang let out a cold, sharp laugh, clearly furious. He muttered “good” three times in quick succession, then downed the wine in one gulp. The glass shattered on the floor. Pressing me down, he kissed me fiercely.
I turned my head just in time; his lips landed on my cheek.
The wet wine made me recoil in disgust. I pushed him away with both hands against his chest.
Crash!
Zhou Zizi accidentally dropped her wine glass, red wine splashing over her white dress. She stared at us in shock before fleeing the room.
“Zizi!”
Someone exclaimed. Zhou Chenyang snapped out of his rage, instinctively rising to chase after her.
Yet, as if compelled by some strange impulse, he glanced back at me.
I was frantically wiping my face.
Disgusted.
I knew he would go after Zhou Zizi and wouldn’t return for days. Grabbing my bag, I prepared to leave.
He caught me, eyes locked onto mine, but his words were not for me.
“Everyone out.”
In moments, most guests had left, leaving only broken glass and a mess on the table, along with my desperate struggling.
Unable to break free, I exhausted myself and gave up.
“Are you really not going after her? If you miss your chance, it’ll take you half a month to make it up to her.”
Zhou Zizi had a fiery temper. Whenever Zhou Chenyang upset her, he had to spend a long time coaxing her—both materially and emotionally.
The room’s dim lighting cast shadows over Zhou Chenyang’s face, hiding his expression.
“I’m leaving, just so you can go find your wild man?”
“Stop calling him that,” I snapped. “As if I’m cheating on you.”
Zhou Chenyang laughed bitterly. “Protecting him now? Can’t even say a word?”
I was too tired to argue further. “Fine, if you think he’s a wild man, so be it. Since you have your true love, I’ve found my soulmate too. Why don’t you just sign the divorce papers? We can part ways and live our own lives.”
I spoke sincerely, which only infuriated him more.
“You want to leave me? Dream on!”
Suddenly, a violent force struck me, the world spinning wildly as I sank into the soft sofa. Before me loomed a deep shadow, along with heated breath and furious eyes.
“Listen, Mu Yan, from the day you married me, you lost the right to leave! Unless I get tired of you, you’ll never walk away.”
I laughed bitterly. “Are you an emperor?”
Still trapped in a feudal fantasy?
Zhou Chenyang looked down on me coldly, his hand pinning my wrists above my head, the other slowly undoing his tie, unbuttoning each shirt button one by one.
My body tensed. “What are you doing?”
“You.”
Losing patience, he yanked the shirt buttons apart, tearing the fabric. Like a demon, he descended upon me.
I struggled fiercely, my wrists reddening, panic rising. “Aren’t you afraid Zhou Zizi will get mad?”
Every time we were intimate and Zhou Zizi found out, she would get angry, and he wouldn’t come home for a long time.
He hesitated briefly, but only for a moment before pressing down again.
“You’re my wife. Fulfilling marital duties is your responsibility,” he breathed hotly into my ear. “You have no right to refuse.”
His burning kiss landed.
I trembled all over, my mind revolting even as my body instinctively responded, shivering with fear at his closeness.
He chuckled darkly, smug. “Your body is far more honest than your mouth.”
In an instant, my body went cold.
To him, this intimacy was nothing but a way to rob me of my dignity.
Tender, fiery.
The kisses deepened, breath growing rapid, scorching enough to burn skin.
My lack of resistance gave him the mistaken impression that I had surrendered. He released my hands.
My eyes slowly dropped to the table.
Bang!
I grabbed a wine bottle and struck the back of his head. Zhou Chenyang stiffened, staring at me in disbelief before collapsing unconscious.
