The young man, who had been playing on his phone, suddenly turned around. Miguel, however, abruptly realized that he was not the Chinese-German mixed-race Chinese scientist, Chen Heng.
This Bat Dragon was a little over three meters long. Because the distance at which it could cast magic was limited, it was flying only about ten meters above the ground. Even so, its evasive ability was formidable. It had dodged in advance nearly every spell cast by the attendants, and seemed virtually invincible.
Xue Shao breathed a sigh of relief. He understood Princess Taiping well. She almost never agreed to anything. But whenever she did, she would certainly find a way to accomplish it.
This time, since Tianchen Fund intended to acquire Penguin Publishing Group, there was no doubt that it would follow the same course as before. In that case, Pearson Group, as the controlling shareholder, would very likely become the other party’s victim once again. Pearson therefore took action at once.
At times, Xue Shao even felt that, as a newcomer to officialdom, his political instincts and his ability to judge and handle situations were not nearly as polished as Princess Taiping’s. In this regard, Princess Taiping was like his strategist and capable wife.
The Three-Legged Toad had originally lost one leg in the explosion, yet the severed limb had now healed perfectly, without the slightest trace of a wound. It swam happily back and forth through the water, occasionally lifting its head and calling out to its master. The toad had never been this happy since it was brought back.
This imperial edict aroused everyone’s doubts. Why was Xue Shao not the one appointed to lead the Affairs of State Hall? At such a time, who could possibly be more suited than Xue Shao to become the foremost minister of the court?
“Grandpa, there’s something strange here.” Flora pointed at a stone showing one corner above the ground. Unfamiliar symbols had been carved into it, adding an unsettling air of mystery.
Many people with exceptionally strong hearts suddenly grow old within an exceedingly short time. This kind of aging is not limited to outward appearance, though the exterior can express it with striking clarity.
“A spoiled heir, huh? If he had no money, he wouldn’t deserve those three words, would he?” Xu Chen accepted the large pile of bottles, jars, talismans, and magical treasures. The immense harvest put him in an excellent mood.
Jing Wa was only thirteen, after all. He looked at Zhang Keji with undisguised longing. Zhang Keji nodded, and Jing Wa let out a cheer before darting out the door. Guo Huaili sat down opposite Zhang Keji, poured himself a cup of tea, and drank it slowly. Zhang Keji said nothing either. The two of them quietly listened to the crisp chirping of the birds in the trees.
Before the other party could say anything more, Lu Zhen turned and walked toward the government office. “What use is there in arguing about this? If we want to find out whether this man is the same person from last night, why not simply ask him?” Seeing him stride over so directly, Su Mu was utterly at a loss. After a brief moment of stunned silence, he could only follow.

“Lord Huang, is there someone in Hangzhou standing up for this humble official? Do they believe I was wrongly accused?” Lu Zhen suddenly asked.
“This humble official has learned his lesson.” After their reminder, Lu Zhen understood where his mistake lay and humbly accepted their advice.
When she saw Qi Hao, she froze. She put a finger into her mouth and bit it, a trace of confusion showing in her pure, flawless black eyes.
Chai Fei naturally understood this principle. He had therefore rolled a glazed pellet in his hand long ago and slapped it forward just before the head of the Hong clan’s fist wind arrived. It exploded at once.
These past few days, the neighborhood committee had gone door to door installing window glass for us free of charge. Kan Shen and Yu Ting cultivated during the day, and every evening Zi Xuan would drag them away. They would not return until eleven at night. Apparently, they had gone off to make money.
Her cooperation with Old Monster Zhang was exceedingly tacit. One played the good cop and the other the bad, but their goal was the same: to act in the interests of their school and its many disciples.
“Very good. Nicely done. Come on, we haven’t had breakfast yet. Let’s go eat first and see whether the imperial chef’s food is any good,” I said.
But he had not expected Mo Qiao to be such an obnoxious fellow. Seeing attention turn toward him, Xiao Li immediately gave Wei Linna a polite smile. He then lowered his head, picked up his wineglass, and took a sip, seemingly avoiding the handshake with Wei Linna by pure coincidence.
She looked even younger than they did, yet she actually considered herself to be of the same generation as their master.
As for what Li came before the name, Ling Xiao could not make it out either. The handwriting was far too scrawled, though it revealed the signer’s uninhibited spirit and considerable narcissism.
The moment she stepped into the ravine, her nostrils twitched. A pungent smell of fresh blood invaded her senses.
After gaining his supernatural ability, especially now that the spiritual energy within his body had become dense and abundant, Chen Rui’s ability to learn at a glance and remember everything was almost monstrously strong.

“Potatoes are buried there.” Chen Ziwei was quite pleased as he looked at the fruits of his labor. At that moment, he felt an unexpected sense of anticipation. He looked forward to the potatoes sprouting their first tips; he looked forward to the arrival of new life.
Still, Nokia phones were durable and resistant to being dropped. Not a single function had been damaged. Compared with the tiny Samsung used by Tian Zhen and the new Nokia carried by the two men, however, its appearance was in a far more sorry state.
But he truly did want to visit the Strange Valley of Miaomiao Peak for a period of cultivation. It was a renowned cultivation sanctuary opened by Bai Shanyue, one of the Seven Heroes of Kunlun. He had to see it for himself.
The higher a person’s position and the longer he lived, the more reverence he felt toward nature and heaven and earth.
She had never imagined that Qin Feng, whom she had once cast aside like worthless straw, would become so wealthy that even Liang Dejun, whom she had worked so hard to win over, looked utterly insignificant beside his warehouses.
“Agreed.” Dominic spoke only two simple words, but his eyes had already begun to burn.
Because Liangshan had been expanded, the journey from Yuanyang County to Liangshan City took no more than an hour. Not long after Wang Yan left, a carriage from the prince’s residence stopped before the Duke’s Manor. The curtain was lifted, and Xue Ying, veiled and carrying a wooden box, gracefully stepped down from the carriage. Ting’er accompanied her.
“What are you going to do? Stay with Jin Quan and keep the formation together. If anything seems amiss, retreat to Yuanyang immediately. Don’t worry about me—I can make my own way back!” Wang Yan leaped from his horse and headed toward the mountain road.
What surprised Wu Xi greatly was that Liu Yiyi had actually taken Divine Physician Qiu as her master and become his final disciple. Whenever they had nothing else to do, the two of them would appear in the hills around the capital. Although the mountains here were very low—so low that they could hardly be called mountains at all—the term “foothills” would have been more accurate.
Huo Chengjun tugged once more at the thread in her hand. “Yunping, go find a pair of scissors.” She spoke to Yunping in high spirits, her brows and eyes filled with smiles, as though the warmth of spring had already risen across her face.
