Volume 1, Chapter 35: The Vanishing Woman (14)
At that moment, all my premonitions were confirmed.
I thought to myself, Things are simple now. The murderer is either him or her.
“Who are you?” the man asked suspiciously, staring at the two of us in a high-pitched voice.
Yang Tian still had four Six-Aperture Sacred Heart Fruits on him. Apart from giving one to Yang Mian, he had left another in the Star Marquis’s Residence in the Azure Domain, entrusting Uncle Shou to pass it on to Mu Yue.
When I first found her three years ago, I should have taken her to the police station and sent her to a welfare orphanage.
From beginning to end, the man I loved had always been Dongfang Ding. Since he had already given me his promise, what did I have to worry about?
Her voice was as faint as a mosquito’s buzz. In the blink of an eye, she had become unbearably weak.
Now that the agreement had been concluded, the two sides were naturally friendly partners. Puki invited me to see an opera in Moscow, one brimming with distinctive Russian flavor.
Hope flared within me at once. Whoever was coming, it was enough that someone was coming. Anything was better than being left here in complete silence.
Damn it, couldn’t he stop tempting people like this? I cursed inwardly, though my thoughts had already become somewhat disordered.
Aunt Bao Juan told me that if I ever wanted to find her, I should simply go to her bun shop. She was there all day long.
The three puppet corpses lying on the ground seemed to have been recharged. With a sudden scrape, they climbed back to their feet and lunged toward Dongfang Ding, baring their claws and fangs.
Lin Fei could not help laughing as well. From what the old man had said, his so-called older brothers and sisters were quite rebellious too. They were all around thirty and still unmarried, nearly driving the old man to his grave. Now they had gone out to have fun and disappeared together once again. Judging by the old man’s expression, he was not surprised in the slightest; this was probably not the first time it had happened.
Li Shimin nodded, inwardly delighted. His brother-in-law really was clever—he had understood his meaning in the blink of an eye. Excellent.
Su Ming was startled, but he did not panic. With all the defensive skills he possessed, that fellow would not be able to do anything to him for the time being.
Suddenly, his gaze halted. Directly before him stood a resolute-looking youth who was completely undaunted by the pressure of his presence. Instead, the young man merely met his eyes with a calm, steady stare.
His heart jolted. Before he could move, he sensed the layers of spatial solidification around him suddenly grow stronger. A familiar force merged perfectly into them, increasing their stability by several levels.
But Hong Wu reacted even faster. Before Yan Zhengxiong could unleash his powerful martial technique, Hong Wu was already in front of him. An iron fist flew forward and met his nose in an intimate collision. With a sharp crack, all the force throughout Yan Zhengxiong’s body was shattered by that punch. Clutching his nose, he cried out in agony.
Not only did he admit that the person before her was merely a clone, he even thoughtfully explained it all in detail, afraid she would not understand. Strictly speaking, the relationship between them was only that of acquaintances—and acquaintances with some past grievances at that. It was not impossible for them to become enemies.
It could be said that Sun Cheng had now reached an unprecedented level. To call him the strongest martial artist in the Origin Martial Realm throughout all of human history would not be an exaggeration.
They had no idea what I did for a living. Besides, the airport was full of security personnel, so being inspected was perfectly normal. Even if they were unwilling, they would have to get out of their cars and negotiate. No one would choose to ram straight into me—unless they were terrorists.
The sight was witnessed by the forces of the five town lords, and the experts at the eighth level of the Origin Martial Realm or above who had been stationed there were all left trembling with belated fear.
Su Yuan could not quite understand what Qing Xingdeng wanted to buy here. To them, these things were nothing more than toys.
Of course, he was not foolish enough to go in wearing his true appearance. If he did, he would not have been able to accomplish anything.
