Chapter 115: The Platinum Sacred Body
Wisps of mist drifted down from the crystal coffin, filling the several-hundred-square-meter chamber with a hazy, ethereal vapor. Looking down from above, one could see the blurred form of a naked woman lying quietly within the coffin.
Her delicate body was as flawless and translucent as jade. Veiled by the dense mist, her features and figure could be seen only indistinctly, though it was still possible to make out the graceful, well-proportioned form of a woman.
This was the very place where Leng Tian and Judas had accidentally stumbled upon the crystal coffin. Yet it had changed. The entire chamber, hundreds of square meters in area, was now filled with the hazy vapor, giving it an eerie appearance.
On the seabed ten kilometers from Wind Orchid Island, Leng Tian sat cross-legged with his eyes closed and a tranquil expression on his face. He had entered a state of deep meditation. Within his dantian, a vast ocean of milky-white true energy surged violently, its tremendous waves rolling and crashing through the void with thunderous roars.
The blood in his veins had already turned platinum-gold, flowing and surging like the torrents of a mighty river. Every inch of his flesh writhed as it absorbed the power within his bloodline. Strands of platinum radiance, fine as hairs, seeped from his veins and merged into his flesh, slowly yet forcefully strengthening his golden muscles and bones.
After obtaining the Divine Spring, Leng Tian had already planned to use its power to break through in one stroke and advance to the second realm of the Ninefold Heaven-Shaking Force—the Platinum Sacred Body. Once he achieved it, his strength would undergo a tremendous transformation.
After reaching the Platinum Sacred Body, Leng Tian would be able to rely on the strength of his physical body alone to fly through the void for short periods. His strength would rival that of a peak Mystic-Entry martial artist. And that was merely in his current state. With the profound awakening of his bloodline, the mountain-force it granted him, and the Seven-Colored Divine Aura combined together, he could easily defeat an ordinary peak Mystic-Entry expert in a head-on clash.
However, if he faced masters of Yan Nanfei and Li Tianzheng’s caliber, the outcome would be difficult to predict. Experts at their level were not only outstanding cultivators among their peers, but also possessed powerful ancient treasures for protection and practiced the various secret arts of their sects. Compared with ordinary experts of the same rank, they were far stronger.
Thus, once Leng Tian reached the Platinum Sacred Body, his strength would be enough to stand shoulder to shoulder with people like them. And that was only the initial stage of the Platinum Sacred Body. If he advanced to the middle or late stage, he would be able to protect himself and remain undefeated even against extraordinary experts of the Transcendent Realm.
At present, Leng Tian was in the final stage of his breakthrough. Completely advancing to the Platinum Sacred Body was merely a matter of time. After consuming an entire bottle of Divine Spring and circulating the Ninefold Heaven-Shaking Force to absorb its power, he had strengthened his flesh and evolved his bloodline. By now, he was already close to success.
Xue Han wandered about in boredom, enthusiastically admiring the various sea creatures swimming past outside the bubble barrier. Judas, meanwhile, sat cross-legged atop the blood-red runes, likewise digesting the energy of the crystals within his body.
The two of them had devoured an enormous quantity of crystals, but the energy contained within them had not yet been completely released. Instead, it had been temporarily stored in their bodies, to be slowly absorbed later.
Judas, however, could not be as carefree as Xue Han. After consuming so many crystals, she had not shown the slightest sign of discomfort. Judas, on the other hand, had to hurry and absorb the energy within the crystals. His Formless True Body would absorb the energy on its own, and if too much accumulated before then, it would produce the opposite effect.
Therefore, while there was still ample time, Judas tried to absorb as much of the crystal energy as possible, lest the autonomous absorption of his true body bring him trouble.
After wandering around for a while, Xue Han unexpectedly gathered another considerable number of green crystals. Delighted, she found a flat place to sit. While admiring the scenery of the seabed, she began swallowing the crystals she had collected.
Wind Orchid Island, the central square.
Li Tianzheng impaled a powerful opponent with his spear. His cold eyes fixed on Chen Yu, whose body was covered in blood.
“Didn’t you want to kill me? I’m giving you the chance now. Fight me one-on-one and see whether you can fulfill that wish of yours!”
Chen Yu gripped his longsword. Though he had suffered wounds in several places, he still glared furiously at Li Tianzheng.
“You killed my brother. I, Chen Yu, will never let this matter go. I know I cannot defeat you alone, but one day I will come looking for revenge. Farewell.”
Zhuang Jinlian was so enraged by Chen Yu’s words that she wished she could cut him down with a single sword strike. Reality, however, left her no choice but to follow him away. With her strength, remaining behind meant certain death. Though they had failed to obtain the Divine Spring, preserving their lives was more important.
Chen Yu turned and left the square without looking back. Li Tianzheng stared after him in bewilderment, never expecting such a change in attitude. The man had spoken with righteous indignation, but in truth he had simply fled from the battle.
“Small-minded cowards. They are not worth worrying about. Brother Li, I have something to discuss with you!”
Wang Mang blasted the last of the experts surrounding him to death, then swept over to Li Tianzheng. His face showed signs of fatigue.
“Between you and me, just say what you have to say. There is no need for formalities.”
Li Tianzheng put away his great spear and turned toward Wang Mang, his tone carrying a hint of displeasure.
Wang Mang was unhappy inside, but he still wore a cordial smile. He pointed toward the Tyrant Dragon, who had remained at the entrance to the square without joining the assault on either of them.
“This man is one of the stewards of Barbarian City. His name is Tyrant Dragon. He helped me in the past, and I promised to give him a share if I obtained the Divine Spring. So I would like to take some from my portion and give it to him. What do you think?”
Li Tianzheng raised his brows and studied Tyrant Dragon for a moment before replying indifferently, “No objection. Make whatever arrangements you like. As long as you leave my share intact, the rest is up to you.”
“Excellent.”
Wang Mang answered with satisfaction. He casually produced a small white jade bottle filled to the brim with Divine Spring and tossed it toward Tyrant Dragon.
Tyrant Dragon had arrived earlier. Because he and Wang Mang had made an agreement, he had not taken part in the assault and had instead guarded the entrance, waiting for Wang Mang to fulfill his promise.
He caught the white jade bottle and sensed the amount inside. His expression shifted slightly, and he was about to question it when Wang Mang said, “Tyrant Dragon, don’t think it’s too little. The two of us obtained only a small amount of Divine Spring. Someone took most of it beforehand, leaving only a little behind. That is all I can give you. I cannot provide any more.”
Tyrant Dragon put the bottle away and cupped his hands toward Wang Mang.
“I trust your character, Chief Wang. Since the Divine Spring is limited, I am already satisfied with what I have received. I shall take my leave now. If you ever visit Barbarian City, I will certainly show you the hospitality of a host. Take care, both of you. Until we meet again.”
With that, he turned and departed.
Only after Tyrant Dragon had left did Wang Mang sweep his gaze around the square. More than a dozen martial artists remained. All of them were wounded and had abandoned any hope of obtaining the Divine Spring. They sat cross-legged, quietly tending to their injuries.
The people Chen Yu had brought, along with the three experts from the Demon God Realm, had all been slain by the two men. They themselves were wounded, and their true essence had been almost completely exhausted. If anyone else came to seize the Divine Spring, they would probably have no choice but to run.
Dark Night was no longer there. While the others had been surrounding Wang Mang and Li Tianzheng, he had quietly slipped away. In fact, when he awoke again, he had not truly gone mad. He had merely pretended to do so in order to numb everyone’s vigilance, then used the chaos of the battle to escape from the square.
“Brother Li, let us leave as well. This journey through the Ancient Realm can be considered a success. At least we will have something to show for ourselves when we return with the Divine Spring.”
Seeing that there was no longer any danger, Wang Mang rose and prepared to leave.
“There is still some time before the passage opens. We might as well look around and see whether we can find any treasures.”
After saying this, Li Tianzheng flashed toward the entrance.
Smiling, Wang Mang followed closely behind and left the square.
In the vast square, apart from the dozen or so martial artists recovering from their wounds, only cold corpses remained. One body after another lay in pools of coagulated blood, while the heavy stench of blood lingered in the air.
Within the deep-sea bubble chamber, platinum radiance flickered uncertainly around Leng Tian’s body. His aura rose sharply, and the powerful field surrounding him formed waves of energy that seemed to make the entire space tremble.
As the platinum blood flowed through his meridians, it gave off the thunderous sound of crashing waves. The aura it emitted was immense and domineering. Even his flesh had been completely transformed into platinum-gold, while an energy several times more powerful than his former golden radiance gathered within him.
Boom! Boom!
As platinum radiance surged around his body, the air erupted with thunderous explosions that reverberated throughout the bubble chamber. Nearby, Xue Han stared wide-eyed at the changes taking place in Leng Tian. From the aura faintly emanating from within him, she could sense that his strength was now several times greater than before.
With a long howl, platinum divine energy burst from Leng Tian’s body. Amid Xue Han’s astonishment, he rose into the air.
“Hahaha... I broke through! At last, I can fly through the void!”
“Brother Tian, you can fly now?”
Xue Han flashed to his side. Gazing at the dazzling platinum radiance and feeling the formidable aura rushing toward her, she cried out in surprise, “Brother Tian, have you reached the Mystic-Entry Realm?”
“Heh heh... More or less. But ordinary Mystic-Entry experts would have no choice but to suffer before me. Even a peak Mystic-Entry expert would not be difficult to kill without the aid of an ancient treasure.”
Having just broken through into a new realm, Leng Tian was in excellent spirits. Controlling the platinum divine energy, he transformed into a streak of light and flew through the bubble chamber at astonishing speed.
“Wow! Boss, you can finally fly! But you haven’t actually advanced into the Mystic-Entry Realm. Could it be that you’re relying solely on the strength of your physical body? That’s far too monstrous!”
Judas rubbed his belly, which had already shrunk by an entire circle. After emerging, he saw platinum afterimages filling the chamber. His movements were so swift that some of the afterimages overlapped, forming double images.
“Brother Tian’s speed is already nearly as fast as that of an ordinary Transcendent-Realm expert! To achieve such a terrifying effect through physical strength alone... he must be a peerless genius!”
Xue Han gazed at Leng Tian, who was racing through the air, with starry-eyed admiration. Her girlish feelings were already beginning to stir.
Judas cast her a disdainful glance. He was still deeply irritated that Xue Han had taken so many of his crystals and had not yet let go of the matter. He was always looking for a chance to get even.
Leng Tian halted in midair and descended to the ground. Looking at the rocky seabed beneath his feet, a trace of excitement flashed through his eyes. With a loud shout, he slammed both platinum fists into the ground like bolts of lightning.
Amid a tremendous roar, the entire seabed seemed to shake. Jagged cracks spread forward from beneath Leng Tian’s feet, crisscrossing the hard rock and forming a series of deep ravines.
Judas naturally lowered his head to look into the ravines stretching beneath them. They were pitch-black, and he could not see how deep they went.
“Oh, for crying out loud...”
Judas clicked his tongue repeatedly in astonishment.
