Chapter 121: The Expert in Purple
"I've finally met a true glutton today! This guy was born to eat!" Xuehan kicked her foot into the greasy, charcoal-black face of Judah.
"You wretched girl... don't go too far..." Judah's short, stout body was kicked right off the rune. Fortunately, it was quick enough to grab a corner of the rune with one hand, preventing it from falling into the void of the mind. Its lecherous, chubby face was left with a clear, small footprint, making it look even more like a pathetic peeping tom who had just been kicked out of bed.
"Are you even human? I am going too far, so what are you going to do about it?" Xuehan’s phoenix eyes glared, and she delivered another kick, perfectly balancing the marks on its face.
With a miserable shriek, Judah plummeted into the depths of the void, the two small footprints on its face looking striking and peculiar, leaving much to the imagination.
"Hmph..." Xuehan withdrew her foot, sat cross-legged firmly on the rune, and continued to watch the disheveled man demonstrate his unique skills in eating.
Half an hour had passed since the food was served. Leng Tian’s eyes had never left the disheveled man’s hands and mouth, occasionally glancing at the mountain of bones growing taller on the table.
"He’s eaten so much!" Er Mao stood at the entrance of the staircase, his face full of heartache. The two tables of the finest and most expensive dishes were being devoured by this stray dog. "What a waste... what a total waste..."
Leng Tian watched as the last chicken was consumed by the disheveled man with lightning speed. In the blink of an eye, not a scrap of meat remained. Holding the chicken carcass, the man smacked his lips with lingering relish and muttered, "Mm, just a little bit more and I’ll be full."
"Kid, why are you just watching and not eating?" the disheveled man asked, glancing at Leng Tian, who was staring at him in a daze.
"Shall I order another table?" Leng Tian was genuinely afraid that if he kept eating, his stomach would burst. But seeing his expression, it was clear he hadn't had his fill, so he asked tentatively.
"Kid, you're kind-hearted. This old man is full; I can't eat another bite." Despite saying he was full, his hand shamelessly grabbed a half-eaten pig's trotter and tucked it into his robes. He looked up at Leng Tian and smiled, "Kid, keep that heaven-defying technique safe. Remember to practice diligently, and it will surely secure your place among the true powerhouses! Remember my words—we shall not meet again!"
After saying this, the disheveled man moved with lightning speed, snatching a lobster weighing several pounds from a waiter’s tray, and leaped out the open window with a loud laugh.
Leng Tian was stunned. What was this? He was just an ordinary person; it would be a miracle if he didn't die jumping from such a height. "Wait, unless he escaped using some secret art..."
"Boom!"
Just as he was wondering if the disheveled man had flown away, a dull thud echoed from outside. With a premonition, he stood up and leaned out the window to look down.
"He's dead..." Xuehan peered through the center of her brow and saw the disheveled man sprawled out on the hard road below, limbs splayed, the lobster in his hand smashed to pieces.
Leng Tian stood frozen, unable to understand the situation. Was he truly just an ordinary mortal? Was his own judgment wrong? But even Judah’s intuition rarely failed! Or perhaps he had simply grown tired of the world’s oppression and mockery, and after a full meal, he decided to end it all!
Patrons on the upper and lower floors heard the commotion and rushed to the windows to look down.
"Good riddance! It's good that he's dead!"
"Now the town can finally have some peace!"
"Did he really just die like that?"
Leng Tian listened to the crowd's chatter and couldn't help but feel that the disheveled man’s reputation was quite questionable. "Ouch... thank goodness I didn't die, or they would have been so satisfied! What a waste, what a waste... cannot let it go to waste!"
The disheveled man groaned in pain, struggling to climb to his feet, muttering incessantly. He staggered over to the smashed lobster, reached out with both hands to scoop it up with great regret, and continued to eat while walking, praising the taste all the while.
Leng Tian watched the staggering silhouette disappear at the edge of town. Under the sunlight, it looked aged and desolate, gradually fading from view and leaving a fleeting sense of vicissitudes in Leng Tian’s heart.
"Brother Tian, do you think he was some god living in seclusion? Just now, I distinctly felt a pair of eyes watching me—it was fleeting, as if he were smiling at me. It felt strange, like the kind gaze of a father." Xuehan sat atop Judah, her eyes glistening with tears.
"Can you take your foot off, mistress..." Judah was sat upon by Xuehan, its chubby face distorted by her snowy foot, one toe even poking into the corner of its mouth.
"Behave yourself! Do you want me to make you lick my toes? Shut up!" Xuehan wiped her tears and kicked down hard. With a scream, a front tooth flew out!
"Excuse me, are you paying the bill, or..." Er Mao, seeing the disheveled man jump and escape, assumed it was a scheme between him and Leng Tian, so he hurried over to test the waters.
"Clear these away and bring me another table. Which dog eye of yours saw me eat? Is this money enough?" The moment Leng Tian saw Er Mao’s fawning, greedy face, he wanted to drag him to a corner and beat him up. He tossed four shimmering gold ingots onto the table, staring at Er Mao with cold eyes.
Seeing the gold, the smile on Er Mao's face grew even wider. He nodded repeatedly, fawning, "Enough, quite enough..." and left with the gold.
Before long, a fresh table of dishes was set before Leng Tian. He took out the Mermaid's Tears from Purgatory, poured a cup, sipped it slowly, and savored the delicious food.
In his mind, Xuehan stood on the blood-red rune with Judah trampled beneath her feet, hands on her hips, scolding, "Are you going to dare do it again? How dare you molest me! I'll trample you to death..."
It turned out that Judah, unable to bear Xuehan’s bullying any longer, had finally reached out its demonic claws to grab at the girl’s chest. That was followed by the eruption of a certain little tigress.
Xuehan’s small foot stomped again and again onto the lecherous, chubby face, flattening Judah’s features into a pancake. Its two green eyes bulged out, looking like two emeralds embedded in a blackboard, flashing with a haunting light.
"And you still dare to think about devouring my soul? Go to hell..." Xuehan stomped her foot down on the glowing emeralds!
Leng Tian, full and satisfied, sat sipping a pot of tea brought by Er Mao, accompanied by a plate of pastries. This fellow had been tipped a gold ingot by Leng Tian, and he was so delighted that he had long forgotten his boss's instructions.
After finishing his tea, Leng Tian left the restaurant. He bypassed the town and arrived at a hill. Smelling the rich fragrance of flowers, he strolled through the blossoms, plucked a bright red fruit, and took a bite. The sweetness and crisp texture filled his mouth.
Following Xuehan's requests, Leng Tian climbed hill after hill, enjoying the flowers and birdsong. He was even assigned the task of picking various fruits. Though she said she couldn't eat, she was gathering them for Leng Tian under the guise of her own needs.
After crossing several hills, they reached the other side of Changchun Island, a flat area covered in blooming peach trees.
"Wow, so many peach trees! This place is truly beautiful. How wonderful it would be to live here forever!" Xuehan was deeply captivated by the island's beauty.
"Mistress, I beg you, please take your... foot... off..." Judah’s voice was intermittent. Every time it tried to speak, Xuehan would grind her foot into its face, preventing it from articulating clearly.
"I'll think about it when I'm in a better mood!" Xuehan said casually, nearly causing Judah to vomit blood in despair. It seemed she was in a good mood already!
"Eh... Brother Tian, look at that. It looks like a statue."
Hearing this, Leng Tian looked up. Just as Xuehan said, ten yards ahead, a statue carved from a single piece of mountain stone, about a meter tall, stood on the ground.
"Why does it look so familiar?" Leng Tian took one look and found the figure very recognizable. When he stepped closer and saw the statue’s face clearly, he couldn't help but blurt out a curse, "Damn it, it's that guy Zhuangzhuang!"
"Wow! What a cute little bear!"
The stone sculpture was indeed in the likeness of a small bear. It was carved with vivid detail, especially the lecherous grin on its face, which was rendered with uncanny realism. The appearance was exactly like Zhuangzhuang!
"Zhuangzhuang was here... Wow! Its name is Zhuangzhuang, but the handwriting is terrible!" After seeing the statue, Xuehan finally let Judah go. Looking at the crooked characters carved beneath the statue, she gave them a very high, sarcastic rating!
"It really is that guy Zhuangzhuang. He’s actually been to the Ancient Realm and even left a statue and his name here. But his handwriting—tsk, tsk—it’s really nothing to brag about!"
After seeing the message on the statue, Leng Tian was certain it was none other than Zhuangzhuang. Besides him, it would be hard to find such a lecherous grin!
"Brother Tian, who is Zhuangzhuang? Do you know him?" Xuehan asked curiously, hearing the tone in Leng Tian's voice.
"Not only do I know him, but we are very close!" A rare, warm look appeared on Leng Tian’s face. He wondered where Huo Wu and the others were, and what mission they were currently carrying out under Zhuangzhuang’s guidance.
Suddenly, Leng Tian’s expression changed. A flash of platinum light surged across his body, and he instantly teleported ten yards away. An invisible gust of wind roared down, and a sword aura as brilliant as purple flame, carrying the power to cleave the heavens and split the earth, slammed into the spot where he had just been standing.
A loud explosion erupted as the immense energy contained within the sword aura burst forth. The ground was gouged into a trench several yards deep, with massive cracks spreading in all directions.
Shockwaves rolled outward, shredding the peach trees within a hundred-meter radius. Leng Tian dodged several times, hiding on a hill. His face turned cold, his brows furrowed, and his eyes, sharp as lightning, scanned the high sky.
In mid-air, a man in purple robes hovered majestically. In his hand, he held a deep purple sword, which was spitting out purple sword aura that chilled the heart.
"You are the martial artist from the outside world who killed three elders, wounded three young masters, and slew two law-enforcement elders of Flame Island—Leng Tian, right?"
The purple-robed man, his face sharp as if carved by a knife, asked with a chilling expression.
