Chapter Sixty-Eight: The Wedding (Finale)
On this day, Leng Zheng and Cheng Yunting were married. The two of them hosted a grand banquet, drawing powerful figures from across the world. Titans of the medical community, renowned professors from prestigious universities, business magnates, leading figures in the world of voice acting—all manner of luminaries gathered.
Yet all of them came for one person: Leng Zheng!
Everyone was bewildered. What was going on? Wasn’t Leng Zheng just a writer and a voice actress? Why were so many influential people present?
Only after asking did they understand: this woman herself was a legend.
She was the head of both the Qin and Su families, a celebrated author, founder of several world-class companies, a renowned pianist, a virtuoso of the guzheng and guqin, a master of the pipa… Layer after layer of her many identities had been unmasked by these distinguished guests.
Leng Zheng, adorned in a phoenix coronet and scarlet wedding robes, was breathtakingly beautiful that day.
She had once confessed her fondness for ancient wedding traditions: the phoenix crown, the ten-mile bridal procession, the formal marriage contract. At this moment, she was beauty itself—down to her very bones.
Tang Shiying was preoccupied with where to hide the wedding shoes so they wouldn’t be easily found. In the end, Chu Yuxiu took over, tucking one shoe each under their skirts.
Were they not supposed to block the door as part of the tradition? Originally, they thought only red envelopes would be exchanged, but inside the packets were not only cash but also company share transfer documents.
“As you’re all friends of Xiao Zheng, I hope you’ll accept these shares as a token. Spend more time with her, so she won’t be alone,” Cheng Yunting called out from outside the door. “May I ask, esteemed guests, if you’ll now open the door?”
When Chu Yuxiu and Tang Shiying unfolded the documents, they realized that with just a signature, the companies would be theirs. Absolutely remarkable!
“Deal!” Tang Shiying, ever the lover of wealth, nodded in satisfaction and opened the door for Cheng Yunting, while Chu Yuxiu handed him the wedding shoes.
“Xiao Zheng,” Cheng Yunting knelt on one knee before Leng Zheng, slipping the wedding shoes onto her feet and carrying her downstairs.
Since Qin Changfeng and his wife had passed away, and Leng Zheng was marrying as the head of the Qin and Su families, she only needed to bid farewell to her grandparents.
At the ceremony, it was time for the formal rites. Qin Cheng personally handed Leng Zheng to Cheng Yunting, whispering, “You must take good care of Xiao Zheng. If you ever dare to hurt her, I guarantee you’ll regret it.”
“Don’t worry, elder brother. I will cherish her always,” Cheng Yunting replied, holding Leng Zheng’s hand.
“Let the ceremony begin!” Qin Xiaonan looked at his younger sister with a smile. “First, bow to Heaven and Earth!”
“Second, bow to the parents!”
“Husband and wife, bow to each other!”
With the final bow, the wedding drew to a close.
“Mr. Cheng Yunting, do you vow to remain with Miss Leng Zheng, never leaving or forsaking her for your entire lives?”
“I vow to be with Xiao Zheng for all eternity, never to be parted, growing old together. Not even death shall separate us,” Cheng Yunting answered resolutely, gazing at Leng Zheng. “We will never be apart.”
“Miss Leng Zheng, do you vow to remain with Mr. Cheng Yunting, never to be separated?”
“I vow to be with Yunting for all eternity, never to be parted. To hold his hand and grow old together,” Leng Zheng replied, her eyes unwavering.
“The ceremony is complete!”
As Qin Xiaonan’s final words faded, the guests began to cheer, “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!”
Cheng Yunting looked at the woman in his arms. “Shall I?”
Leng Zheng nodded. “Be gentle, I’m still…”
Before she could finish, her lips were sealed.
“Ah—” The crowd broke out in delighted laughter and good-natured teasing.
At that moment, Chu Yuxiu called out boldly, “Cheng Yunting, be careful! Our Xiao Zheng is still expecting!”
To hold your beloved’s hand and grow old together, with music and harmony in your lives—was this not the true peace and happiness? Once, it had been a wish. Now, it was reality.
From the vast and misty moonlight, I found you. You are forever my cherished exception.

PS: From today onward, this story comes to an official close.
Within these pages, their journey has ended, but for them, this is just the beginning. Thus, the tale is to be continued.
I’ve often wondered what their ending should look like. Perhaps this is the best: nearly everyone’s story comes full circle.
There are regrets, to be sure, but perhaps those regrets no longer matter.
May we all shine in the fields we love. I’ll see you in the next story.
