Volume One, Chapter Nine: The Super Eight World
On this day, a young girl wearing red shoes appeared before him.
A girl in red shoes? Lin Yu was momentarily stunned. He was all too familiar with the concept of a girl in red shoes. Wasn’t this the very same girl from the movie *Superior Ultraman 8 Brothers*?
Looking at the girl who had appeared so abruptly, Lin Yu frowned. He had already defeated Alien Empera; could he still be experiencing the plot of *Superior 8*? But he quickly realized that his timeline for defeating Alien Empera was far earlier than in the original story. It was hardly surprising that the events of *Superior 8* were only just beginning.
"The humans of another world are suffering through great tribulation," the red-shoed girl said. "That world needs your help. Join the other eight warriors to save it."
Under Lin Yu’s gaze, she vanished into thin air. He remained silent, looking around, only to realize he was now in a bustling city. It seemed he had arrived in a different world.
"Have I already reached a parallel universe?" Lin Yu mused.
Suddenly finding himself in another world, he felt a bit disoriented. He could vaguely sense that the light energy in this world was not very active. He hadn't expected to be invited here. After a moment of contemplation, he prepared to leave. He seemed to have arrived a bit early, as he couldn't find Hibino Mirai anywhere.
"Hmm?" Lin Yu’s gaze shifted to a nearby skyscraper. He spotted a shadowy figure in a black robe, watching him coldly from the rooftop.
*The Dark Shadow Master?* Lin Yu’s eyes narrowed. The Dark Shadow Master was the entity invading this world. It was said that he had already destroyed many parallel universes, and it was only after invading this one that he had drawn out the eight Ultra Brothers.
The Dark Shadow Master was powerful, with a unique ability: he could harvest negative emotions from humans to manifest new clones, all of which added to his strength. Once the negative energy reached a certain point and the humans of Earth lost their utility, he would completely destroy that space-time. As his name suggested, his most formidable weapons were his psychic powers—though in the original story, he had only demonstrated the ability to summon storms and monsters.
"I’ve only just arrived, and I’m already being targeted?" Lin Yu chuckled. Suddenly, a terrifying burst of telekinetic power erupted from him, striking the Dark Shadow Master’s clone atop the building.
*Boom!* The clone shattered under the impact, dissolving into specks of black mist.
"Light should not descend upon this world," a voice like a curse echoed from behind Lin Yu.
He turned to see a new clone of the Dark Shadow Master standing there. The entity waved a hand, launching a volley of fireballs toward him.
Lin Yu sneered. "Is that all the power you have?"
He pushed his hand forward. Instantly, a chilling frost erupted, freezing the fireballs into ice spheres mid-air. *Clatter, clatter, clatter!* The ice spheres fell to the ground, shattering into dust.
The Dark Shadow Master seemed unwilling to give up, but after casting one final, deep look at Lin Yu, he prepared to retreat. However, Lin Yu wasn't about to let him leave. A terrifying surge of telekinesis erupted, enveloping the Dark Shadow Master and infiltrating his mind.
*Memory Reading and Manipulation!*
The clone was no match for such overwhelming psychic force. As Lin Yu probed the entity’s memories, he was shocked to discover its true origin. He had always known the Dark Shadow Master was mysterious, but he hadn't realized this being was once a shattered shadow of Spheres, which had later come into contact with negative energy to become the Dark Shadow Master.
This entity had deployed clones across various multiverses to feed on human negative energy. After destroying countless worlds, the Dark Shadow Master had become incredibly powerful. The entity he faced now was merely one of many clones.
Lin Yu grew grave. He hadn't expected Spheres to have such potential. He didn't waste time; after reading the memories, he began to analyze the Dark Shadow Master's psychic abilities. "So, by manipulating the flow of psychic energy, you influence the elements of the universe to launch elemental attacks?"
Lin Yu’s heart stirred as he tried to browse more of the entity's techniques, but suddenly, a terrifying, malevolent intent surged toward him, attempting to corrupt his mind. He was shocked and quickly used his vast telekinetic power to sever his consciousness from the Dark Shadow Master's mind.
"A collective consciousness?" Lin Yu stared at the figure before him. He had been too careless. The Dark Shadow Master was not simple; even though his power was divided into countless clones, their minds were shared. A single clone could mobilize the full power of the Dark Shadow Master—and that power was telekinesis.
The strength of this telekinesis was terrifying—far greater than Lin Yu's current human form. He didn't know how it would compare to his Giant form because he had retreated immediately upon sensing the threat.
"Feels like another 'plot-armor' villain," Lin Yu muttered, though he understood why, given the entity's ability to synthesize monsters like Giga Chimera.
"A psychic? Or... a being of Light?" the Dark Shadow Master asked, his voice sounding like a cacophony of thousands of people speaking in unison. It was grating and uncomfortable to hear.
"So," Lin Yu said, poised for combat, "is this the collective will of the Dark Shadow Master?"
The entity stared at him, then waved a hand, sending a frigid wind sweeping toward Lin Yu. Lin Yu braced himself, allowing the wind to shred his body.
The Dark Shadow Master sneered: "The weakness of Light is cold, is it not?" He knew the Ultra race well—they were composed of light and heat, and thus, cold was their common vulnerability. It sapped their energy and strength. The Ultra Brothers had suffered greatly because of this weakness in the past.
Unfortunately for him, Lin Yu was not an Ultra Brother. Not only did he possess an infinite energy supply, but as the wind died down and Lin Yu’s "shattered" body lay on the ground, his head spoke up: "Oops, that was almost the end of me!"
The Dark Shadow Master was stunned. "What?"
Before his eyes, Lin Yu’s scattered remains began to float, reassembling like blocks. Soon, he was whole again, his body covered in a layer of frost that quickly faded.
Lin Yu stretched his limbs. He had just used the elementalization ability he’d gained from Groza—a technique that converted his body into a state of absolute zero. It rendered high-temperature attacks useless and even if his body was blown apart, as long as his cells were intact, he could easily reform. Moreover, this ability granted him immunity to the cold, which had previously been a minor hindrance.
"Only this much cold?" Lin Yu scoffed at the bewildered Dark Shadow Master. "A bit disappointing. Let me show you what real cold feels like. Absolute Freeze!"
An astonishing wave of frost erupted from Lin Yu, surging toward the Dark Shadow Master. The entity tried to repel it with gusts of wind, but the frost was endless.
The Dark Shadow Master, currently just a clone, lacked the stamina to win a war of attrition. Seizing the opening, Lin Yu upgraded his newly acquired "Elemental Power." He felt his telekinetic strength grow significantly. While it was only a small fraction of his total power, it was a welcome boost.
He looked at the Dark Shadow Master and smirked. He waved his hand, creating a massive hurricane. "Returning the favor!"
The hurricane slammed into the Dark Shadow Master.
