Volume One, Chapter 16: The Fierce Woman Demands Payment, Forcing Yingying to Marry the Simpleton Son!
The next moment, he took a step forward, launching himself like a cannonball.
“Boom! Boom!”
His fists swung left and right.
In midair, Su Ming’s fists rained down relentlessly, enveloping the burly man like a torrential downpour.
With fierce impact came tremors and roaring sounds.
“Crack! Crack!”
The sharp snaps of bones breaking rang out one after another!
The burly man was struck down utterly defenseless, looking no stronger than a helpless child before Su Ming.
His body collapsed, hitting the ground hard, and Su Ming immediately mounted him.
Left hook, right hook!
Still unsatisfied, Su Ming rose and raised his foot high, aiming for the man’s face.
“Stop! Stop, I give up!!!”
“I… I’m done for,” the burly man gasped, stretching out his hand and shaking it violently, tilting his head as he spat out a mouthful of blood mixed with a few broken teeth.
“Just because you say stop, I’ll stop?”
Su Ming said coldly, delivering a sweeping horizontal kick.
The burly man gasped for breath as if struck by lightning, like a train had crashed into him.
He flew ten meters sideways before finally coming to a halt.
“Huff… huff…”
“That damn freak, this guy is brutal!!”
Several minutes passed before the burly man could prop himself up on one hand, kneeling with difficulty as he raised his head.
By then, Su Ming had vanished without a trace.
Nearby, Dongfang Xiaoxiao stood frozen, her face pale and her mind blank.
Only the stunning scenes she had just witnessed replayed vividly in her mind.
She had seen the entire brutal beating Su Ming had dealt to Uncle Long.
Who was Uncle Long?
He was the undisputed underground national boxing champion, once a martial monk at Southern Shaolin for three years!
He had also served as a personal guard to a Major General in the Jiuzhou military!
A legendary figure, yet here in this narrow alley, he was brought to his knees by one man.
“It must be an illusion! It has to be!” Dongfang Xiaoxiao muttered, still dazed.
…
Elsewhere, Su Ming returned home, pushing open the door with a smile.
“Sis, I’m back.”
But no reply came. His heart tightened as he hurried inside.
He paused.
Yingying was there, sitting in a wheelchair, her eyes red from crying.
When she saw Su Ming, her eyes glistened with sorrow as if deeply wronged.
Two others were in the room—a middle-aged woman, arms crossed, and a man in his twenties with a tilted head and drooling mouth, seemingly mentally disabled.
“Brother, are you okay?” Su Yingying pushed the wheelchair to Su Ming’s side with concern.
“I’m fine…”
“Who are they?” Su Ming asked, setting down his medicine bag and turning to the woman.
“So you’re Yingying’s brother, the convict,” the woman said with a smile. “I didn’t expect you to be released—it’s a good thing. I came today to talk about marriage.”
“Yingying, now that you have a guardian, we can’t delay this any longer.”
Her eyes brightened with anticipation.
“Marriage?”
Su Ming frowned. “Yingying, tell me honestly. Don’t be afraid. What exactly is going on?”
Lowering her head, Yingying, eyes still red, said, “Before Mom and Dad passed away, they wanted to treat my leg, so they borrowed money from Aunt Liu—twenty thousand yuan. I can’t pay it back. Aunt Liu wants me to marry into her family.”
Hearing this, Su Ming understood everything.
Especially when Yingying glanced at the mentally disabled man, the truth was clear.
“Yingying’s brother, though my son has issues, isn’t Yingying disabled too?”
“Never mind the money you owe us, even your parents agreed to this marriage when they were alive.”
“Now that you’re out, let’s settle this today and prepare early, so you can have peace of mind.”
The woman spoke eagerly.
“Show me the IOU.”
Ignoring her chatter, Su Ming extended his hand.
“I knew you wouldn’t believe me. I brought the IOU. Look, your parents personally signed it. It can’t be fake.”
“I’m old now; how could I lie?”
She pulled an IOU slip from her purse and placed it before Su Ming.
But he didn’t even glance at it, coldly asking, “Do you know my parents’ names and where they’re from?”
“Of course. Your father is Su Daqiang, mother Chen Yazhi. Where they’re from, I don’t know. They never told me.”
The woman’s face flickered but she answered fluently.
“Do you know my parents were illiterate? They couldn’t even write their own names.”
“This IOU has no fingerprint. Who wrote the names?”
Su Ming’s tone turned icy, his aura pressing down on the woman, making her stammer nervously.
“Su Ming, what do you mean? Do you think I’d lie to you?”
“Or are you trying to renege on the debt?”
“Listen, I’m not someone you can bully. Either pay up today, or I’ll take my son away.”
The woman shouted at the top of her lungs.
“You want me to marry my sister to your idiot son? You must be crazy!”
“The IOU is fake. No money, just trouble. If you have the guts, call the police and sue me!”
“Get lost!”
Su Ming’s expression darkened. He grabbed a bottle and smashed it on the woman’s feet.
“Crack!”
Startled, the woman recoiled.
“Mom, I’m scared.”
Her mentally disabled son crawled into her arms, a grown man still clinging like a child, his hand slipping inside her clothes.
The woman, tense, held her son and hurried past Su Ming toward the door.
Though wary of him as a former convict, once outside she cursed loudly.
“Su Ming, you convict, just you wait.”
“Trying to dodge your debts? I’ll teach you a lesson. Hmph!”
After a few curses, she fled as Su Ming stepped out.
Moments later, Su Ming returned inside.
“You silly girl, those two are nothing but con artists.”
“It’s my fault for leaving you alone at home. This can’t go on. I’ll find a nanny for you in a few days.”
“Otherwise, I’d still be worried when I’m not around.”
Su Ming took out all the things he bought yesterday and proudly placed them before Su Yingying like treasures.
“Brother, what are you talking about? I’m not that precious. Besides, a nanny’s salary is too high. We can’t afford it.”
“Besides, I can take care of myself… Are you just worried I’m a burden?”
Pouting, Su Yingying looked a little hurt.
“Don’t say that, silly girl.”
“Mom and Dad are gone. From now on, it’s just us siblings. Even if I die, I’ll never leave you behind.”
Su Ming smiled, teasingly ruffling her hair.
“Don’t say ‘die,’ it’s unlucky. Spit three times,” she said superstitiously, and Su Ming obediently complied.
“All right, these are underwear I bought for you. I don’t know your size, so they’re all one size fits all.”
“And this phone, the latest model. You can surf the internet or play games when you’re bored, so you won’t feel lonely.”
He opened the gift box and laid the items before Su Yingying.
“Brother, that phone is expensive, at least ten thousand yuan. Where did you get so much money?”
Su Yingying stared at the smartphone in disbelief, rubbing her eyes as if seeing things.
It was definitely genuine, not a knockoff, since Yu Yangyang also had the same model.
She worried her brother might have done something illegal.
Otherwise, how could he have so much money right after being released?
