Volume 1, Chapter 26: The Malignant Weapon Long'a, the Forbidden Taiyi!
At this moment, Su Ming had already arrived at the banquet hall. He sat in his chair, watching Lin Ruoxue speaking on the stage.
At the entrance of the banquet hall, four burly bodyguards stood in a row, requiring everyone passing through to undergo their inspection before entering. An elderly man walked over.
"Four Vajras, the Lin family has spent ten million to hire you to maintain order tonight." The old man's voice was stern. "Remember, you must keep a sharp eye out for suspicious individuals. If anything happens to the members of the Lin family, none of you will leave Longzhou alive."
Although the old man appeared aged, he radiated an incredibly powerful aura. He stood with his legs straight and his breathing rhythmic and unbroken.
"Steward Jin, rest assured. We, the Four Vajras, have certainly earned our reputation!" A burly man with a stubbled face and a massive frame said confidently. "In the Southeast Sea, we are at least gold-tier bodyguards. We take money to do a job; even if a fly passes by us, we’ll check its sex!"
"Good, I trust in the strength of the Four Vajras!" Steward Jin said. "Alright, I am going to patrol now. This is in your hands!" He turned and left.
"Brother Long, who is that old ghost? So arrogant, actually questioning our strength?" A man as tall as an iron tower asked. "If it weren't for the sake of the Lin family, I would have slapped him to death!"
"Kui Lang, calm down, or you will suffer a great loss," said Long Yan solemnly. "That Steward Jin is not as simple as you think. He could crush you with one hand! Have you heard of the Imperial Guards of the Central Capital? Steward Jin once served as an instructor for eight thousand guards! The three weakest disciples he trained are all ranked in the top thirty of the international Heaven Ranking."
"He's that strong?" Kui Lang’s eyes widened, a cold shiver running down his spine. He was relieved he hadn't acted impulsively.
At that moment, Steward Jin arrived at a T-junction at the end of the corridor and suddenly stopped, his eyes narrowing. From the left, the rhythmic clicking of high heels echoed against the floor.
"Uncle Jin, what's wrong?" two bodyguards in front of the elevator asked.
Steward Jin did not respond. His gaze was fixed on the corridor to the left, where a woman in a white slit dress was walking toward them at a brisk pace. She was stunning, with a curvaceous figure, standing at least 175 centimeters tall. She wore black high heels and black silk stockings; a faint glint of steel peeked from the edge of the stockings at her thighs. With blonde hair, blue eyes, a high nose bridge, and a delicate face, she exuded a cold, alluring aura.
As she moved, she raised her hands, and two silver daggers appeared in her palms, spinning rapidly.
"Assassin!"
"Drop your weapons and stay where you are!" The two bodyguards realized the situation and immediately drew their pistols, shouting a warning in unison.
In that instant, a wicked smile appeared on the woman's face. She pivoted, leaped into the air, and planted a foot against the wall, appearing to run horizontally across it.
"Whoosh!"
She hurled the two daggers, which streaked through the air like silver lightning.
"Splat!"
"Ah!"
The speed was too fast. The daggers pierced the arms of the two bodyguards, causing their guns to drop to the ground. Before they could reach down to retrieve them, they saw a pair of beautiful legs before them, followed by two snow-white hands that moved with the speed of a magician.
"Clatter!"
The daggers were ripped from the guards' arms, drawing blood. The woman crossed her arms, forming a cross, and the two cold blades intertwined. The bodyguards froze, their faces vacant, as a thin line of blood appeared across their throats.
"God will entertain you..." The woman smiled, a charming, seductive expression on her beautiful face. She lifted a dagger, licked a bead of blood from the tip with her red tongue, and hummed in satisfaction.
"Black Widow, the top assassin of the Northern Sky Territory, former commander of the Second Legion of the Demon Army!" Steward Jin stepped out, narrowing his eyes at the blonde woman.
"The fame of a guard instructor is outdated, old man," the woman tilted her head and smiled. "We each serve our own masters, but if you insist on blocking my path... then I have no choice but to send you to meet God."
"I retired ten years ago, yet people still remember me. As for you, if you die today, you will be forgotten by tomorrow. A killer like you is beneath notice," Steward Jin said, beckoning her with a finger.
The Black Widow smiled coldly and lunged at him with her daggers. They clashed instantly. Steward Jin was steady and defensive, while the Black Widow was swift and precise. Every move was lethal, yet Steward Jin parried them all, his bare hands against her twin blades.
The Black Widow grew anxious; she couldn't afford to drag this out. She accelerated her attacks, forcing Steward Jin to retreat.
"Your strength is great, but it is not enough!" Steward Jin said calmly.
"Splat!"
Suddenly, Steward Jin’s body shuddered, his eyes widening as a sharp blade pierced his chest. He gritted his teeth, grabbed the blade, and slammed his palm against it, forcing it out of his body as he staggered back.
"Old ghost, you didn't expect that, did you? A proud instructor of the Imperial Guards falling by our hands!" A dark shadow emerged from the wall—not by passing through it, but through a technique of concealment, using attire, angles, and light to hide his position.
"Demon Shadow Warrior!"
"I didn't expect you to come as well. But I tell you, now that you are here, none of you will leave!" Steward Jin wheezed, leaning against the wall, coughing up blood.
"Is that so?" The masked warrior held a katana and crossed his arms confidently. "Miss Lin Ruoxue must leave with us tonight. Even if the gods descended, they could not stop me!"
"You think I'm bluffing? If you dare touch the Lin family tonight, *he* will appear! And once he appears, neither of you will leave alive!" Steward Jin roared through gritted teeth, buying time for the Four Vajras to prepare.
"Who?" the Black Widow asked, curious.
Steward Jin, having sent the signal, felt a moment of relief and broke into a wild laugh. "The taboo of the Four Sky Territories, Long A Taiyi! He is here tonight; if you have the guts, go and try him!"
Upon hearing the name, the Black Widow and the Demon Shadow Warrior froze, a sense of instinctive dread washing over them.
Long A Taiyi! The taboo of the Four Sky Territories, the supreme ruler beneath the Imperial Capital. This was not just a name; it was a title—a god of slaughter who had descended three years ago. His title was Taiyi, and he wielded a strange weapon called "Long A." Any wound inflicted by Long A could not heal; even surgical intervention could not close it, leading to death by exsanguination.
No one knew the origins of the weapon, nor where Taiyi came from. He appeared like a spirit risen from hell during the wars of the Four Territories. He walked in the night and harvested lives in the day. Where he passed, nothing grew. He was a myth, a taboo, having appeared for only eight months—yet he had wiped out the top ten legions of the Four Sky Territories and conquered seventy-two states single-handedly.
"Hahaha, you old fool, are you trying to trick me?" The Demon Shadow Warrior suddenly laughed wildly, though he had trembled at the mere mention of the name. "How could Long A Taiyi possibly be here? Damn you, trying to stall!"
"Demon Shadow, take care of the old man!" the Black Widow said, suddenly snapping out of her momentary fear and feeling ashamed of her hesitation. "I will go and finish the job inside!"
