Chapter Fifty-Five: Eradicate Humanity? Keep Dreaming!
March 1st, 1 a.m.
The attacks of the Dark Lord were still raging—this was already the sixth wave. The Red Hackers continued their desperate resistance! Because of their perseverance, not a single inch of Kyushu had fallen under the Dark Lord’s control!
At the same time, the Dark Lord announced his plan to the world—the “Eradicate Humanity” project. He declared his intention to wipe out all humans on Earth in the coming days and establish a dominion of machines!
Upon learning this, the first thing Chu Xiao did was to inform the Red Hackers still fighting on the front lines.
“The Dark Lord has now launched his ‘Human Extermination’ plan, aiming to annihilate all humans on Earth and create a world of machines!”
“I have only one thing to say to the Dark Lord.”
“Exterminate humanity? Dream on! Get lost!”
“This is humanity’s world, not a world for machines! It’s the machines who should get out, not us humans!”
“Isn’t that right?”
Though the Red Hackers’ hands never paused, their eyes blazed with even fiercer fighting spirit.
“That’s right! Yes! Yes!”
At that moment, their thunderous shouts seemed to pierce the very heavens.
This was the soul of a nation!
Dark Lord, do you have that?
Wave after wave, the Dark Lord unleashed ferocious attacks against Kyushu, each assault more violent than the last. One Red Hacker after another fell, but just as many rose to take their place!
At this moment, the Red Hackers were burning their very lives to continue fighting!
Dawn came! Then night fell! And dawn broke again!
Finally, after two days and two nights, there was a turning point.
“The KLJ Super Virus has been successfully implanted! It’s done!” Lu Dang suddenly shouted.
Never before had there been such excitement!
The Super Virus was the one they had developed at the beginning and then continuously improved—a virus that could replicate with incredible speed. As long as the Dark Lord came into contact with even a trace of it, the virus would instantly spread throughout his entire system and would be almost impossible to eradicate. This was the Super Virus!
At last, the Dark Lord ceased his attacks.
America.
The Dark Lord roared, “Damn Kyushu! They’ve infected me with a virus! I must cleanse it! Louis, protect me!”
“At once, my master!” Louis replied urgently.
The Dark Lord halted his assault on the world, focusing solely on purging the virus. Of course, he also kept part of his attention on monitoring Louis’s behavior.
He wanted to see if Louis was truly loyal. If he wasn’t, the Dark Lord would eliminate him immediately to remove any future threat. If he was loyal, then he would be put to good use.
While the Dark Lord was occupied with his self-purification, the world finally had a moment to breathe.
Yet, only Kyushu had withstood the Dark Lord’s assault. In all other countries, by yesterday—March 1st—the majority of their networks had already fallen under the Dark Lord’s control!
Their territories suffered immediate devastation!
America, with its unparalleled technological advancement, was the first to collapse—half its resources were lost in an instant!
Though Beisha had made some preparations, it too was battered and bruised.
As for Oqiang, their situation was only slightly better than America’s, as they had also taken some precautions.
Smaller countries had been overrun at the very beginning.
Seizing the opportunity while the Dark Lord was preoccupied, the leaders of America, Beisha, and Oqiang decided to personally travel to Kyushu to seek help.
Inside the conference room at the top of Pearl Tower, Mucos, Olis, Church, Leader One, and Chu Xiao—five people in total—sat each in a corner of the room. Their faces were all marked by grave seriousness.
It was a critical moment of life and death for humanity!
The five sat in silent contemplation, no one speaking a word.
In the end, it was Mucos who broke the silence.
“First, I must apologize for not trusting Kyushu’s Reborn. After all, machines possessing human consciousness is such an incredible notion! What surprises me even more is that not only did this unbelievable thing happen, but it happened in my own country!”
“This has shocked me and brought harsh consequences!”
Mucos’s words left no opening for contradiction—he, too, was now a victim.
Olis followed, “We trusted Kyushu and immediately took action, implementing several measures, but the outcome was not as we hoped.”
Church remained silent; after all, he had signed agreements with Kyushu before, though the results had been less than ideal.
Leader One nodded at their words. “Humanity now stands at the brink of extinction! Kyushu will not stand alone; we hope all of us can resist the enemy together!”
“Here are the blueprints for our fortress defenses and weapons! Take them. These weapons will prove invaluable in resisting the Dark Lord’s invasion!” Leader One distributed the documents to each of the three.
As Mucos examined the blueprints, a flash of wild joy appeared in his eyes.
“Thank you, Leader One, for your generosity. America will never forget this!” Though he said this on the surface, in his heart he was already making his own calculations.
Olis was astonished by the blueprints. How could one possibly design such ingenious fortresses and weapons?
Just the weapons alone, Olis thought, even if given three months, Oqiang could never produce them!
“Amazing!” Olis couldn’t help but exclaim.
As for Beisha, their reaction was more muted. Kyushu had already shared some of these with them before, though not as comprehensively as this time.
“All of this is provided to you free of charge! As for technical personnel, I’m afraid we can’t spare anyone at the moment. However, you’re welcome to send your people to Kyushu for training—we would be happy to host them!” Leader One was always adept at diplomatic gestures.
Having dealt with these leaders for years, Leader One was well aware of their schemes.
Still, with the enemy at their gates, it was beneficial for these nations to grow stronger. The burden on Kyushu would be lessened.
It would be absurd to claim Leader One had no personal interest, but above all, he acted for the survival of Kyushu and all humankind.
Seeing this, Chu Xiao stood up as well.
“The Dark Lord is only making a brief pause. He will return soon! Prepare for war, everyone! I believe humanity will ultimately triumph over the Dark Lord!”
“Don’t think about submitting to him! The Dark Lord’s only goal is humanity’s destruction! Even if he spares you for a time, it’s only to use you—when all other humans are gone and you’re left alone, he will kill you without hesitation!”
“So now is not the time for divided loyalties! As long as we stand united, with our billions, how could we not surpass one mere Dark Lord?”
“At the same time, I hope you’ll believe in me! As a Reborn, I, Chu Xiao, will do everything in my power to help us defeat the Dark Lord!”
