Chapter 106: Congratulations, You've Mastered Buzzing In
“Are they asymmetrical on both sides?”
Tan Shuying was momentarily taken aback but quickly understood Qin Chuan’s implication as she followed his gaze.
“What nonsense are you talking about?”
She crossed her arms protectively over her chest, her delicate face flushing deeply, though her accusation lacked full confidence.
“Whether I’m talking nonsense or not, you know best in your heart. From a professional standpoint, I must advise you: sleeping face down may cause some asymmetry in certain areas, but the harm it does is quite serious.”
“For example, it can affect your normal blood circulation. Long-term pressure on certain spots can lead to numbness and pain, and even the possibility of cell necrosis. Fortunately, you developed this habit after adulthood. If it had been during your developmental stage, your chest would have been completely flat!”
The more Tan Shuying heard, the more alarmed she became. She was shocked not only by the dangers of sleeping face down but also by Qin Chuan’s ability to deduce her personal habits and even when she developed them just by observing her chest’s asymmetry.
They say traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes observation, listening, questioning, and pulse-taking—this guy’s observational skills must be exceptional.
“But if I don’t sleep face down, I can’t fall asleep. Do you have any solutions?” Tan Shuying asked, troubled.
Qin Chuan glanced at Wei Dapeng, who was eavesdropping with keen ears. Wei Dapeng was startled and quickly opened the car door, stepping away to create some distance.
Tan Shuying’s face turned even redder. At this moment, she looked even more radiant than before. Qin Chuan found himself staring, compelled to reassess her beauty and aura—especially since she exuded a subtle, natural fragrance.
Rubbing his chin, Qin Chuan said, “Your insomnia mainly stems from irregular routines, not so much from your sleeping posture. The treatment is quite straightforward: acupuncture combined with medicinal cuisine. The key is your chest condition. If left untreated, it could develop into breast disease, and you’ve probably heard about the worst-case scenario.”
“Breast cancer?” Tan Shuying's voice trembled slightly.
Qin Chuan nodded, praising her, “Congratulations on your quick answer.”
Three dark lines appeared on Tan Shuying’s forehead. She didn’t consider this a happy thing. Born into a wealthy family and now a glamorous star in the entertainment industry, no one knew she was more cautious about her health than anyone else. Hearing about the risk of cancer made her heart sink instantly.
“Can you cure it?” she asked anxiously.
Qin Chuan straightened his chest and said proudly, “Of course I can cure it, and completely. But the treatment requires your full cooperation, as it involves both acupuncture and therapeutic massage.”
“I understand acupuncture, but what kind of massage?” Tan Shuying asked, blushing.
Qin Chuan thought for a moment, then began gesturing with his hands, “Something like this.”
“Are you sure that’s massage and not just fooling me or taking advantage?” Tan Shuying pointed at his hands, half embarrassed, half angry.
Looking down, Qin Chuan realized his hands were repeatedly making grasping motions. His face flushed as he explained, “That was a demonstration mishap. It’s roughly like a massage. Since there’s blockage in your chest meridians, the dead cells there need to be revitalized to restore normal blood flow.”
Tan Shuying was confused and somewhat skeptical. She felt Qin Chuan might be pulling her leg. After all, this massage required close contact, which meant entrusting him with such a private area—it felt unbearably embarrassing.
“Of course, if you’re not comfortable, I won’t force you. Treatment is a mutual agreement. No one’s life is guaranteed by luck—if you don’t cherish it, why should I bother?” Qin Chuan said indifferently.
Those last words struck a nerve. Without hesitation, Tan Shuying replied, “I’m willing to cooperate. When do we start?”
“Not today. I don’t have all the necessary equipment on hand. How about tomorrow if you’re available?”
“Yes, yes, I’m available!” Tan Shuying cut him off promptly.
“Alright, we’ll start tomorrow. Remember, for the next three months, avoid spicy and greasy foods, absolutely no alcohol, and most importantly, maintain a regular schedule and avoid staying up late!”
Qin Chuan spoke with a serious tone.
Tan Shuying nodded repeatedly. Though keeping a regular schedule was hard for her profession, she decided to postpone all work to save her health. Fortunately, the most pressing project had just wrapped up yesterday, so she could take a break.
“That’s excellent. If all patients had your resolve, doctors would be much more at ease. We’ll finalize the time and place tomorrow. For now, can you take me back to the Lan family’s old residence?” Qin Chuan smiled.
A faint smile appeared on Tan Shuying’s face. She had no doubts about Qin Chuan’s medical skills—he was the proud disciple of the Medical God and the Medicine King. If even he couldn’t cure her, no one else could.
Soon, Wei Dapeng was called back to the car to act as driver again, and Tan Shuying gradually warmed up to Qin Chuan. She started asking about his fiancées, claiming her curiosity was due to the gossip nature of a fake girlfriend.
Qin Chuan didn’t suspect anything. For some reason, talking with Tan Shuying was easy and enjoyable. This big star occasionally revealed some insider secrets, like which star got exploited by a director or which actress was the lover of a powerful investor. Qin Chuan found it fascinating.
Everyone loves gossip, and Qin Chuan was no exception.
He wanted to ask Tan Shuying how she avoided the dark side of the industry, since, by his judgment, she was still pure and yet a top star. Was there some powerful figure behind her?
“Unless you have the background of our Miss,” Wei Dapeng suddenly said.
Qin Chuan seized the opportunity: “What background does your Miss have?”
“Our Miss is...”
“Shut up! If you don’t speak, no one will think you’re mute. Dapeng, from now on, if you say one more word, I’ll deduct a month’s salary,” Tan Shuying quickly interrupted.
Wei Dapeng stiffened and swallowed back the rest of his sentence.
This made Qin Chuan even more curious about Tan Shuying’s background, but he didn’t press further. There would be plenty of time to ask during treatment.
About an hour later, the sports car stopped in front of the Lan family’s old residence. During their chat, Tan Shuying learned that Qin Chuan was currently staying there. If not for considerations of status, she would have loved to see what Lan Jin looked like—the sister of Jin’er, who Qin Chuan often mentioned as one of the few who could “barely hold the fort.”
“Qin Chuan, here’s my private number. Contact me directly if you need anything,” Tan Shuying said, handing him an exquisitely crafted business card before he got out.
Qin Chuan pocketed the card and smiled, “See you tomorrow!”
“See you tomorrow!”
Watching Qin Chuan’s retreating figure, Tan Shuying smiled and asked, “Dapeng, what do you think about marrying a man like Qin Chuan?”
