Chapter 115: Double the Joy

Seeing Qin Chuan’s radiant, sun-bright smile, the middle-aged man shuddered despite himself. He could clearly tell that Qin Chuan had held back just now. Otherwise, being flung away would have been the least of his troubles; sustaining serious injuries would have counted as the best possible outcome.
A moment earlier, he had concentrated nearly all the force of his punch into a single point before unleashing it. Yet the instant Qin Chuan caught it with one hand, that immense power had been like a stream flowing into the sea—dissolved and absorbed in the blink of an eye. If Qin Chuan had countered with his internal energy, the man’s arm would certainly have been crippled.
That was when he realized a fact both difficult and unavoidable: he and Qin Chuan existed on entirely different levels. Continuing the fight would only bring him further humiliation.
“There’s no need to continue!”
The middle-aged man’s voice was utterly dejected, stripped of all the fierceness and arrogance he had displayed before.
“That’s it?” Wei Dapeng still had a sunflower seed between his teeth. He had expected a fierce, evenly matched battle that would shake heaven and earth, but it had ended after a single exchange. What a disappointment!
Qin Chuan smiled. “Since you’ve lost, answer my questions honestly.”
“Ask.”
As stingy with words as ever, the middle-aged man spoke as though uttering even one extra syllable would lead to irreversible disaster.
“Name?”
“Liao Hua.”
“Age?”
“Twenty-five.”
“Gender?”
“Male.”
Qin Chuan’s interrogation came to an abrupt halt. Shrugging, he said with a smile, “Very good. I’m finished. But are you sure your age isn’t fifty-two?”
The corner of Liao Hua’s mouth twitched. He was especially irritated at that moment. First, Qin Chuan’s questions had sounded exactly like a police interrogation. Second, Qin Chuan had struck at his sore spot. Looking prematurely old was something he had been born with—how could he control it?
“Mr. Qin, Brother Liao really is only twenty-five this year. Even the boss is always praising him for being so mature for his age!”
Wei Dapeng hurriedly added another blow, nearly making Liao Hua spit blood.
Qin Chuan sighed with feeling. “Your appearance certainly does justice to your name. As the old saying goes, ‘When Shu has no great generals, Liao Hua serves as the vanguard.’ It was praise for an old general who, despite being over eighty, still remained one of Shu’s pillars of strength.”
“Let’s just assume you were complimenting me.”
With that, Liao Hua turned and walked away.
Qin Chuan fought hard to suppress his laughter. Only after Liao Hua had completely disappeared from sight did he ask with a grin, “Dapeng, was my sarcasm really that obvious?”

“Extremely obvious!” Wei Dapeng gave Qin Chuan his full endorsement.
“As long as the person involved didn’t understand it.”
“Are you sure he wasn’t being sarcastic?”
“Dapeng, do you know how Yang Xiu died in *The Romance of the Three Kingdoms*?”
“He was conceited because of his talent.”
“That was only one reason. More importantly, he simply talked too much.”
“...”
Wei Dapeng hunched his neck and hurriedly covered his mouth with both hands.
Qin Chuan smiled in satisfaction and patted him lightly on the shoulder. “You may not be as intelligent as Yang Xiu, but at least you understand that a wise man knows when to submit to circumstances. Very good.”
Watching Qin Chuan walk away, Wei Dapeng broke out in a cold sweat. Yet when he recalled what Qin Chuan had just said, he felt that something seemed off.
The words had clearly sounded like praise, so why did they carry such a strong flavor of insult?
Wei Dapeng opened his mouth, instinctively wanting to ask for clarification. But when he remembered how Yang Xiu had died, he forced the words back down.
When Qin Chuan returned to the villa’s living room, he saw that the bedroom door upstairs had been opened. Tan Shuying’s pleasant voice drifted out from within.
“Qin Chuan, come upstairs! We’re all ready.”
Qin Chuan’s spirits rose at once. Yet Tan Shuying’s words made her sound like a concubine awaiting the emperor’s favor, and he suddenly felt as though a fire were blazing in his lower abdomen. It took several silent recitations of the Heart-Clearing Mantra before he felt even slightly calmer.
“I’m coming!”
His voice seemed to tremble. He hurried up the stairs to the second floor, entered Tan Shuying’s bedroom, and locked the door behind him in one fluid motion. Even Qin Chuan himself had the surreal feeling that he was about to shut the door and begin making a baby.
The sight of the two peerless beauties, both having only recently emerged from the bath, made him swallow with difficulty.
Tan Shuying was wearing a pink silk nightdress so thin it seemed almost weightless. Her snow-white skin, delicate enough to bruise at a touch, was left exposed, adding even more alluring charm.
Her long black hair fell over her shoulders like a dark waterfall. Still damp from her bath, it lent her an even more captivating air.
Lan Jin, meanwhile, wore a blue silk nightdress of exactly the same transparency. Clearly, she had purchased the same design in a different color.
Tan Shuying was tall and well-proportioned, while Lan Jin had the petite, endearing air of a dependent little bird. Each possessed her own unique beauty, leaving Qin Chuan momentarily unsure where he should look.
“If you’re done staring, hurry up and start the treatment,” Tan Shuying said with a teasing smile.

Qin Chuan quickly gathered his thoughts, though his heart was still pounding violently.
“Miss Tan, most of the acupuncture points I need to treat are located on your chest, so you’ll need to remove the... garments underneath.”
Tan Shuying’s pretty face flushed faintly, but she immediately turned defense into offense.
“Do I need to remove the clothes on top as well?”
“Although I can administer the needles through the nightdress, the treatment will be more effective without anything in the way. So if you can completely relax, removing it before the acupuncture would naturally be the best choice.”
Qin Chuan spoke with utmost seriousness.
“I see.”
Tan Shuying stroked her chin, then let out a quiet sigh.
“If removing the nightdress would make the treatment more effective, then I...”
“Take it off. Hurry...”
Qin Chuan urged her silently in his heart.
“Then I’ll have to keep it on during the acupuncture. At worst, we can simply do a few more sessions.”
Tan Shuying suddenly changed course.
The corner of Qin Chuan’s mouth twitched violently. She was clearly teasing him!
Seeing his disappointed expression, a sly glimmer flashed through Tan Shuying’s eyes. Did he really think taking advantage of her would be that easy?
Just then, Lan Jin suddenly said, “Brother Chuan, you mustn’t bully Yingying. If you really want to look at certain places, I can let you look at mine instead. Wouldn’t that be all right?”
Tan Shuying’s delicate brows lifted. She suddenly felt as though she had been betrayed. Yet when she saw the fiercely protective look on Lan Jin’s face, she realized there was not the slightest hint of rivalry. It was simply the pure devotion of a fan protecting her idol.
“Wait... Why did I just think of it as rivalry for affection?”
Tan Shuying shuddered and hurriedly cast all those chaotic thoughts into oblivion.
“Jin’er, what are you saying? I’m a pure-hearted doctor. In my eyes, there’s no distinction between men and women. All right, both of you lie down on the bed and get ready for the needles.”
Qin Chuan spoke with righteous solemnity.
As he watched the two beautiful women remove their outer and inner garments respectively, Qin Chuan sighed inwardly.
As expected, twice the beauty meant twice the pleasure.
