Chapter 83: An Unexpected Visitor?
"Brother-in-law is just too handsome!" Lan Xin couldn't help but exclaim, her eyes sparkling as if filled with starlight.
Lan Jin felt a sudden chill in her heart—this Qin Chuan was far too popular with young women. The incident at the bar and his domineering attitude in the car had already filled her cousin’s eyes with admiration. If Lan Xin saw even more of Qin Chuan’s strengths, wouldn’t she fall completely for him? No, she had to curb this enthusiasm.
"Lan Xin, do you know how many fiancées Qin Chuan has? They say he has fifteen!" Lan Jin thought that making her cousin realize the difficulty of the situation was the best way to deter her.
Yet as soon as she spoke, Lan Xin’s eyes gleamed even more excitedly. "Wow! If I could stand out among so many women, wouldn’t that make me even more amazing?"
Three dark lines appeared on Lan Jin’s forehead. She suddenly felt as if she were hoisting a stone only to drop it on her own foot. Why did this girl’s thought process differ so much from ordinary people?
"Besides, the fact that brother-in-law has so many fiancées only proves his exceptional charm and talent, doesn’t it?" Admiration was written all over Lan Xin’s face. She truly believed that only by finding such a man could her life be considered worthwhile.
Listening to the sisters’ conversation, Ah Wei could only marvel—was this the time for palace intrigue? Did they not realize they might soon be hunted? With their lives hanging in the balance, how could they still have the leisure to discuss men?
"Hopeless!" Ah Wei muttered silently to himself.
Yet soon after, another thought sprang to his mind. "I still haven’t spent a night with one of the Midnight Song and Dance Troupe girls—I absolutely can’t die now!"
About ten minutes later, Ah Wei parked the car at the entrance of a park. It was near midnight, and the park was especially quiet.
"Ah Wei, you stay here in the car and protect them. Those people behind us are mine to deal with," Qin Chuan commanded.
Ah Wei replied in a low voice, "Mr. Qin, we don’t know who they are. I’d better get out and help. The more people, the more strength."
"Yes, brother-in-law, Ah Wei is grandpa’s chief bodyguard. He’s not to be underestimated. He can definitely help you," Lan Xin added anxiously.
Lan Jin, however, snorted coldly. "If those people are too much for Brother Chuan to handle, Ah Wei would only be a hindrance. It’s best to just follow orders."
Ah Wei clutched his chest, frustrated and helpless. That stings, old friend! Though everything she said was true, couldn’t the young lady show him a little respect? Weren’t they supposed to be as close as siblings? Was he merely a stepping stone to highlight her man’s greatness?
Ah Wei had countless complaints he dared not voice.
Qin Chuan, meanwhile, had no time to consider their feelings. He quickly opened the car door and stepped out. The cars behind them stopped about thirty meters away.

The doors of three cars opened in succession, and seven or eight men and women in black tactical jackets emerged. More precisely, only the leader was a young woman; the rest were robust young men.
They stood tall and straight, bodies like javelins, unmoving as ancient pines, their eyes and brows brimming with murderous intent.
Soldiers?
Qin Chuan’s brow furrowed slightly. He could sense these young men and women were true veterans, forged in the crucible of battle—a deadly aura only honed through life-and-death struggles.
"Are you Mr. Qin Chuan, the last disciple of the legendary Medical Sage?" the leading young woman asked.
Her tone wasn’t exactly respectful, but it carried no hostility either.
Introduced by Li Youshan?
Qin Chuan was puzzled. If they weren’t here to cause trouble, why make such a grand entrance?
"Speak plainly. No need for pleasantries," Qin Chuan replied curtly.
The young woman was taken aback—how many years had it been since anyone spoke to her this way? Yet, recalling her purpose, she quickly suppressed her irritation.
"We were sent by Dr. Li. We hope you can help treat a special patient. Would you be willing to come with us?"
Though her words sounded negotiable, the tone hinted at an order that brooked no refusal, which irked Qin Chuan.
Before he could answer, a burly man beside her spoke coldly, "What’s there to hesitate about? Treating that person is an honor. Do you know how many people are waiting in line for the chance?"
The young woman’s brows knitted together, but given the speaker’s status, she did not rebuke him. His words were harsh, but they were the truth—and truth is often hard to accept, isn’t it?
"Sorry, but I don’t need that kind of honor. If there’s nothing else, move aside. I’m in a hurry to get home and enjoy myself with beautiful women," Qin Chuan replied impatiently.
"Wait!"
The young woman moved swiftly to block his path.
Qin Chuan smiled slyly. "What is it, sister? Do you want to join me for some fun?"
He deliberately let his eyes linger on her striking figure. Her tactical jacket was open, revealing a fitted camisole beneath, accentuating her curves.
"Insolent! How dare you disrespect Captain Mo? Are you courting death?" the burly young man snapped, his anger barely concealed, fists clenched and ready to strike.
Mo Qingqiu herself was furious. Qin Chuan’s brazen gaze made her loathe him all the more. She had expected the disciple of the Medical Sage to be at least principled and courteous, but instead he was shamelessly lewd.
"He must be taught a lesson."
With that thought, Mo Qingqiu was about to signal her vice-captain to act.
But the burly man was already moving. He pointed his finger at Qin Chuan’s nose and said coldly, "If you don’t apologize to our captain within three seconds, don’t blame me for teaching you—"
Before he could even finish the word "lesson," Qin Chuan, who had been three or four meters away, suddenly became a blur, moving like a special effect in a film.
The next moment, a sound of breaking bone echoed. The young man felt a piercing pain.
"Did your father never tell you it’s rude to point at others?" Qin Chuan’s mocking voice rang out. Somehow, he was now right in front of the young man.
Mo Qingqiu and the others were visibly shocked. The young man’s finger was bent at a right angle, the bone protruding white and terrible.
"You’re dead!" the young man roared, his eyes bulging. He was amazed by Qin Chuan’s speed, but blamed his broken finger on being caught off guard.
He raised his right elbow, aiming a vicious blow at Qin Chuan’s cheekbone—a move clearly honed through countless real battles.
"Apparently, your father never taught you basic manners. In that case, I’ll do it for him, so you don’t suffer greater losses in society," Qin Chuan said.
He reached out with his left hand, catching the ferocious blow with precision. His hand closed lightly.
Crack!
The elbow, one of the hardest joints in the human body, shattered instantly. The young man finally couldn’t hold back a cry of pain.
"With skills like that, you dare lecture me? Get lost!"
Before he finished, Qin Chuan kicked the young man in the abdomen.
Thud!
With a muffled sound, the young man flew out like a broken kite.
Crash!
He landed heavily, twitching a few times before lying still.
"Anyone else want to teach me?" Qin Chuan turned to Mo Qingqiu and the others, asking each word with chilling clarity.
