Chapter 75: It’s Only Right for a Brother-in-Law to Teach His Wife’s Brother a Lesson
"Ah Hu, is your top-tier suite at the Midnight Bar a public restroom? Does anyone just walk in and out as they please?"
"And as for that little runt who spoke up just now, if you've got guts, step forward. I'd like to see who dies first."
Long Invincible's words left Zhuo Yihu utterly embarrassed. The second-highest floor of Midnight Bar was filled with VIP suites, reserved exclusively for distinguished guests, and the corridor's security was exceptionally tight.
Lan Xin was escorted by a host of Lan family bodyguards and held a membership card for the bar, so her easy access to this floor was unsurprising. But for anyone else to break in so easily—such a thing was nearly impossible.
Moreover, Zhuo Yihu had announced the VIP suite floor closed to outsiders for the day, just to properly entertain Long Invincible. Most of the suites were filled with his own men—many of them ruthless, desperate characters.
The sound of the door being kicked open would have brought them all out to investigate. In such circumstances, who else could possibly force their way in?
"It's him. Now, even if the sky falls, there's nothing to worry about."
Lan Jin recognized the voice. Moments ago, her face was painted with anxiety, but now it was entirely replaced by joy.
Lan Xin raised her brows in curiosity. She knew her cousin had exceptionally high standards, and had never praised any man like this. She looked intently toward the suite's entrance.
A moment later, Qin Chuan walked calmly inside.
"Who are you?" Zhuo Yihu demanded coldly.
Qin Chuan replied in a deep voice, "Someone you can't afford to offend."
Zhuo Yihu chuckled angrily. As the undisputed king of Binhai's underground world, he could hardly think of anyone in his territory he couldn't handle.
"Someone, cripple this arrogant fool," he ordered.
The burly men behind him charged at Qin Chuan without hesitation, their palms suddenly glinting with knives.
A flash of cold steel split the air—they aimed for Qin Chuan's vital points.
Temple, throat, heart...
Their attack was perfectly coordinated, as though they'd practiced countless times.
Seeing Qin Chuan standing still, Zhuo Yihu smirked.
"He's scared stiff at this show of force, yet he dares to spout such nonsense. These days, some people read a few trashy web novels and think they can play the cocky war god."
With that thought, Zhuo Yihu's smile widened, and he mocked, "Remember to keep a low profile in your next life."
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Before he finished speaking, the dull thuds of fists striking flesh echoed through the room, and the charging figures were hurled back.
Crash!
Crack!
One burly man smashed into the coffee table, sending bottles crashing to the ground, and the table itself was shattered to pieces.
"Ouch, it hurts!"
"I think my ribs are broken!"
"My wrist must be fractured!"
The men rolled on the floor, groaning in agony.
"This... how is this possible?" Zhuo Yihu's smile froze. He hadn't even seen how Qin Chuan struck.
These were his elite men—killers, hardened by real combat and far more vicious than ordinary thugs.
Yet they couldn't withstand even a single move together. How could Zhuo Yihu accept such humiliation?
"Young Master Long, be careful. This fellow must be a martial arts expert," whispered a middle-aged man in black.
A martial arts expert!
Zhuo Yihu sucked in a cold breath. No wonder his elite men were so easily defeated; the man before him was one of those legendary fighters.
Long Invincible remained unruffled. Both his bodyguards were martial artists as well. For a notorious playboy whose very career was courting trouble, he'd have been dead a hundred times over without such skilled protection.
"You two, teach this bastard a lesson. Otherwise he'll think being a martial artist means he can do as he pleases," Long Invincible said arrogantly.
The two men in black didn't rush forward. Where laymen see a brawl, experts see the technique. Though Qin Chuan's exchange with the thugs was brief, they knew they couldn't have disabled those men so cleanly.
And Qin Chuan had barely moved from his spot, indicating the power he'd shown was only the tip of the iceberg.
"Why aren't you moving?" Long Invincible snapped.
Before his bodyguards could respond, Qin Chuan laughed, "They don't dare. Not everyone is as brainless as you."
"You dare insult me? Do you know the consequences?" Long Invincible said through clenched teeth.
Qin Chuan shrugged, "Not only do I dare insult you, I dare hit you too. As for the consequences, do they vanish just because I worry about them in advance?"
Long Invincible was momentarily speechless. As irritating as Qin Chuan was, he couldn't deny the logic.
"Wait... you said you dare hit me? Ha!"
Long Invincible laughed as if he'd heard the most absurd joke. Even in the elite circles of Yanjing, no one dared say such a thing to him. Yet here in humble Binhai, someone finally had the nerve.
"Do you know who I am?"
After a long moment, his expression turned icy. "No one who has ever dared touch me has—"
Slap!
Before he could finish, Qin Chuan's palm landed squarely on his face, the right cheek swelling visibly as a trickle of blood seeped from his lips.
"You—"
Slap!
Another blow cut him off.
"Ah, now that's symmetrical,"
Qin Chuan touched his chin with satisfaction, as if admiring his handiwork.
A chorus of gasps swept the room.
Especially Long Invincible's two bodyguards—they were stunned. They hadn't seen how Qin Chuan moved. For one man to possess such terrifying speed was beyond belief.
Long Invincible was utterly dazed. His head buzzed; no one had ever dared treat him like this. In Yanjing's aristocratic circles, he walked with impunity.
Now he'd been slapped by a nobody—twice, no less. If word got out, how could the Dragon family's heir show his face again?
"I'll kill you!"
Long Invincible's eyes blazed with fury. If looks could kill, Qin Chuan would have been hacked to pieces.
"Enough noise."
Qin Chuan unleashed a flurry of slaps, tens of them, until Long Invincible was seeing stars and nearly fainted.
"Have you learned to speak like a human yet?" Qin Chuan asked with a smile.
Long Invincible's ears were ringing. He could tell from Qin Chuan's lips that it wasn't a kind question, and mumbled, "You're dead!"
"So you still haven't learned."
Qin Chuan raised his hand to continue.
"Stop... stop!"
The bodyguards finally snapped out of their shock, their voices trembling.
"What, do you want to take his beating for him?"
Qin Chuan turned to them, smiling.
Just that glance made them shiver uncontrollably, as if a primordial beast had fixed its gaze upon them.
"No, no, no... What I mean is, Young Master Long's status is special. If anything happens, you can't bear the Dragon family's wrath."
The bodyguard had to wrack his brains to find the right words, and breathed a sigh of relief once he was sure he hadn't offended Qin Chuan.
Qin Chuan looked surprised. "So you're doing me a favor?"
The bodyguard nodded eagerly, but before he could congratulate himself on his cleverness, Qin Chuan continued,
"I appreciate your concern, but a brother-in-law disciplining his wife's little brother is perfectly justified. Our family matters are none of your business."
