Chapter 122: You Look Like a Labrador to Me

Hurriedly leaving the Qingcheng International Tower, a flicker of cold sharpness passed over Qian Chuan’s usually sunny face. Shortly after Lin Wanyu’s call, Zhuo Yihu also sent a confirmation message.
Under his deliberate guidance, Fu Tingxiu had already booked a performance by the Ye Weiyang Song and Dance Troupe, subtly hinting to Zhuo Yihu that the guest this time was an important figure, and specifically requesting the company of the Zhao sisters, Ling’er and Cai’er.
Combined with the previous arrangements, Qin Chuan was almost certain that the VIP was Long Tiancheng—especially since Long Wuhen had recently called, mentioning that her third uncle had arrived at Binhai.
Though Long Wuhen’s words were devoid of emotion, Qin Chuan sensed hostility and disgust towards this uncle, further confirming his earlier suspicions.
Lost in these thoughts, a red Porsche 911 suddenly screeched to a halt in front of him.
“Sis’ husband, get in!” Lan Xin waved to Qin Chuan, her short ear-length orange hair fluttering in the wind, exuding a unique kind of charm.
“Lan Jin didn’t know you were coming to find me, right?” Qin Chuan asked as he opened the car door and plopped into the passenger seat.
Lan Xin grinned proudly. “Don’t worry, sis’ husband, I sneaked over. My sister definitely won’t find out.”
“Wait, why does that sound a bit strange?” Qin Chuan clicked his tongue, feeling that something was off.
Lan Xin chuckled, “Doesn’t it feel a little like the brother-in-law is having an affair with his sister-in-law?”
“*Cough cough cough*…” Qin Chuan nearly choked on the words.
“You’ve got a sharp wit, don’t say that next time,” Qin Chuan rolled his eyes and continued grumpily, “What was otherwise a mundane matter, you’ve made it sound so thrilling. Anyone who didn’t know might really think I did something to you.”
“Sis’ husband, we could really be a thing,” Lan Xin said slyly, flashing two adorable little tiger teeth.
“Stop talking nonsense!” Qin Chuan shot back.
“All righty!” she replied.

As they spoke, Lan Xin tugged on Qin Chuan’s sleeve, then suddenly slammed on the accelerator. The sports car shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.
Qin Chuan was speechless—had he just been teased by a young girl?
Watching Lan Xin’s red hair waving wildly in the wind, she radiated a wild, alluring energy. She even kept turning her head to give flirty winks and blowing kisses, leaving Qin Chuan utterly dumbfounded.
“The Lan sisters are truly something else!” Qin Chuan silently commented.
“Sis’ husband, am I cool?” Lan Xin asked.
“You look more like a Labrador!” Qin Chuan quipped.
“Not even daring to look me in the eye—is that because you’re afraid I’ll charm you?” she teased.
“Whether I’m charmed or not, if you keep driving without watching the road, we might both end up dead,” Qin Chuan said, firmly straightening Lan Xin’s red head and gripping the door handle for safety.
After all, speeding is one thing; speeding without watching the road is another. The former depends on skill, the latter on luck.
About forty minutes later, Lan Xin and Qin Chuan arrived at the Ye Weiyang Bar. After parking, they entered together. It was just past four in the afternoon, so there were only a few patrons, chatting and drinking with the staff, none paying attention as the drinks kept flowing.
Qin Chuan and Lan Xin found a corner, ordered two drinks, and chatted casually. Meanwhile, Qin Chuan kept scanning the surroundings with his eyes, waiting for his target to appear.
Around six o’clock, Qin Chuan received a message from Zhuo Yihu: just three simple words, “The person’s here!”
Moments later, the bouncer came to clear the place. The few customers left reluctantly, Qin Chuan among them. Of course, this was just a pretense.
After exiting the main door, Qin Chuan deliberately circled twice in front of the surveillance cameras, then slipped in through a fire exit at the back of the bar, taking advantage of a blind spot.
Meanwhile, in the underground parking lot, Ah Wei—disguised as Qin Chuan—got into the Porsche.
“Sis’ husband is amazing. If I hadn’t known the truth beforehand, I really wouldn’t have noticed you were a fake,” Lan Xin said admiringly, her eyes sparkling like little stars.

Ah Wei felt a bit proud. Having personally witnessed Qin Chuan’s flawless disguise skills, he then lowered his voice and said, “Second Miss, Mr. Qin just sent a message telling you to tease me, and then I have to... cough... flirt back with you.”
Lan Xin’s eyes first flashed with disbelief, then she recalled Qin Chuan’s repeated orders: obey Ah Wei’s instructions in all matters.
Though uncertain of Qin Chuan’s full intentions, Lan Xin trusted him unconditionally—a trust even she found astonishing.
She quickly threw a coquettish glance, sending a shiver through Ah Wei’s body. He swore this was the second most unbearable car ride of his bodyguard career, the first naturally being a high-speed ride with Qin Chuan.
However, this was a different kind of ordeal. Though he dared not step over the line with the Lan family’s second miss, he had to play the role of a flirtatious rake teasing his sister-in-law. If not for a morning spent practicing in front of the mirror, he would surely have been exposed.
At the same time—
At the underground parking exit, a security guard quietly picked up his phone and lowered his voice to report, “Qin Chuan has left with Lan Xin. According to the records, Lan Xin frequently visits bars, dance halls, and KTVs. Their visit today should be a coincidence.”
After a brief silence on the other end, a hoarse, aged voice came through, “If it’s a coincidence, then withdraw!”
“Should I continue to secretly protect Long Tiancheng?” the guard respectfully asked.
“No need!” the elder sneered. “Since he’s a discarded piece, just make sure to maximize their value. In any case, their abandonment is already decided.”
“Old Shen, you once said it’s better to kill wrongly than to let go. Regardless of whether this kid is a remnant of the Qin family, why not just eliminate him outright? Why keep testing?” the guard asked, still puzzled.
The elder’s voice carried a hint of helplessness this time. “The forces behind Qin Chuan are complex. Especially since he reportedly saved the Dragon King’s life recently. Unless you’re absolutely certain he’s a Qin family remnant, don’t act rashly. Once Dragon Fang targets you, there’s no easy escape.”
“Old Shen’s advice is right. I was reckless. I will leave Binhai immediately,” the guard promised humbly.
The elder nodded with satisfaction and said with relief, “I didn’t expect you to mature so much after two years of hardship. If this were before, you’d have stubbornly argued with me. Enough for now. You’re going to Gusu City. I heard you’re interested in that little girl from the Tan family. Take this opportunity to make contact. Bringing the Tan family into our camp will greatly benefit us.”
“Yes, sir!” The guard’s face lit up with excitement. After hanging up, he gazed into the distance and murmured, “Tan Shuying, you won’t escape my grasp.”
