Chapter Sixty-Seven: Have You Cooled Down Yet?
He gently smoothed the strands of hair stuck to my face, wrapped me in the blanket, and pressed his forehead to mine. “Are you still angry?” he asked.
My tone was icy. “Leave. I don’t ever want to see you again.”
He didn’t move. I tried to push him away, but he’d already wrapped me up so tightly that I couldn’t even lift my arms.
He showed no sign of anger. In fact, he even smiled. “I’ve already taken everything from you. Are you still trying to weasel out of it?”
My anger only flared higher. How could he turn this around? He was the one who bullied me, yet now it sounded as if I was being unreasonable.
Noticing I was about to explode, he chuckled. “Alright, alright, it’s me who’s being unreasonable. I’m tired. Stay and sleep with me.”
He tugged me down to lie beside him, but I pushed him away, determined not to let him touch me again.
“You pervert! Take your filthy hands off me. Don’t touch me again.”
His face changed instantly. He threw back the blanket with a flourish.
I looked down and saw the deep and shallow reddish-purple marks scattered across my body, a few raw bite marks on my collarbone and shoulder.
I looked like one of those rare patients in the news, covered in hideous red blotches. I felt certain I would slowly rot and die.
I felt as if I reeked from the inside out.
Terrified, I clutched the blanket around me and reached to cover Luo Ange’s eyes, not letting him look.
His gaze darkened. He grabbed my hand and called out, “Yi Lanshan, stop it. Let me see.”
I glared at him, a wave of helplessness washing over me. Fighting him was like throwing an egg at a stone.
Thankfully, he didn’t fare much better. If only his face could be ruined, how satisfying that would be.
His hand pressed lightly on my collarbone. I shuddered and drew back, looking at him with a cold sneer. “So this is how you avenge Mu Ying, is it? Are you satisfied?”
He said nothing. I raised my voice and shouted, “Are you satisfied? You devil, you pervert! Why don’t you just die? Why did you have to dirty me, make me stink? Why did you have to ruin me—why?”
I fired off question after question, pouring every ounce of strength into my words. In the end, I collapsed into the pillow and began to sob again.
I was truly exhausted—body, heart, and soul.
At some point, while I cried myself to sleep, I felt something cool and soothing being applied to my skin, and someone lifted my legs.
Groggy, I opened my eyes to see Luo Ange bending over me, gently rubbing something on me. When his hand touched a more private place, I startled awake, shrinking away. “What… what are you doing?”
He held me still. “Don’t move. You’re swollen. I’m putting medicine on.”
I curled up. “No, go away.”
His patience had worn thin. Ignoring my struggles, he pinned me down, parted my knees, and briskly applied the ointment.
The sensation was indescribable—sharp pain melting into cool relief. I always thought I had strong willpower, but I couldn’t help sighing in comfort.
Humans are strange creatures. There seems to be a solution to every pain. Why had Xia Qi and Li Wanqiu never mentioned this before?
Luo Ange set two tubes of ointment on the bedside table, wiped his hands with a tissue, and instructed, “The red one goes all over your body. The green one is for down there—three times a day.”
Mortified, I buried my face in the pillow. He laughed lightly. “If it’s inconvenient, I can help you. I don’t mind.”
I shot upright and shouted, “But I do!”
Suddenly, he said, “Stay away from Shu Congxuan. Don’t go flirting with him.”
