Chapter 74: Even Knows How to Kiss Back Now Extra chapter for those who gifted tourmaline diamonds
Luo Ange shook her head. “I’ve already let you go. How could I possibly let him off as well?”
For the first time, I tried to placate him. “I was the one who told Mu Ying to go to the café—it has nothing to do with Rong Luozheng. If you have to blame someone, blame me.”
“Don’t pretend. As if you would dare! I know it was Xia Qi, your good friend. If you really want me to spare Rong Luozheng, fine—I’ll take it out on your dear friend instead.”
“Is there any other choice?”
“Yi Lanshan, don’t push your luck.”
I hid in my bedroom and called Yi Huayang, warning her to think twice about accepting Rong Luozheng’s proposal.
But I was wrong. Someone like her—a peacock in a former life, born to display herself—how could she ever listen to me?
She even mocked me. “What’s wrong? Seeing me marry into money made you restless, hasn’t it? I gave you back Du Fanchuan as you wished, and now you don’t want him?”
I shot back, “Rong Luozheng isn’t much of a rich man; at best, he’s a nouveau riche.”
She replied, perfectly self-assured, “Even a nouveau riche is better than Du Fanchuan, that penniless loser.”
I forced myself to be patient. “Yi Huayang, don’t say I didn’t warn you. You’ll regret it, just wait.”
She hung up angrily, likely off to complain to my father.
Soon after, my father called, blaming me—not just for staying away from home, but also for undermining my sister behind her back.
I tried to explain, but he demanded to know where I got my information and who had told me.
Unable to answer, he assumed I was making it up. “My dear daughter, I understand you feel a sense of loss. But you can’t be so jealous of your sister’s happiness. When her life improves, surely she won’t treat you badly, will she?”
I had no idea what had blinded them. An old man who hadn’t even divorced his wife, and who had cheated during his marriage, was openly proposing to his own daughter. Any sane parents would have thrown the man out immediately, wouldn’t they?
I couldn’t help but wonder how Yi Guangshan ever became the chief of police—was his intelligence really lower than mine?
My mouth went dry from all my explanations, but my father refused to believe a word I said. He grew angry, saying I was talking nonsense, that we were speaking different languages.
He was the truly stubborn one.
After hanging up, I lay on the bed and couldn’t help but let out a bitter laugh—for myself, and for Luo Ange.
At least he’d told me this out of goodwill. Whatever our relationship, at least on this matter, he hadn’t set a trap for me.
From the doorway, I heard his voice. “What’s wrong? Your family doesn’t believe you?”
I sat up, dejectedly meeting his gaze, feeling a deep sense of sorrow.
He walked over and sat beside me, looking at me for a few seconds before suddenly cupping my face. Then, wave after wave of kisses crashed down upon me.
I don’t know why, but as his lips and teeth tangled with mine, aside from the thunderous roar in my head, I didn’t feel any disgust.
At first, I wasn’t even aware of it. After a while, Luo Ange broke away, breathing heavily and smiling in delight. “Looks like I’ve trained you well—you even know how to kiss back now.”
Blushing, I pushed him away, refusing to admit I’d responded.
He laughed and pinched my chin. As the storm broke, I surrendered, closing my eyes; following his lead, I remembered nothing else.
Later, I realized why Luo Ange’s kisses didn’t repulse me—perhaps because this time, he simply kissed me, without doing anything further that might have disgusted me.
It was as if he could never get enough. Though I was nearly out of breath, I was lost in his world, until a sudden clap of thunder echoed outside.
“What are you two doing?”
I pushed Luo Ange away and looked toward the door, where a man stood, clutching the doorframe, on the verge of collapse.
