Chapter 82: Do You Have the Guts? An Extra Chapter for Those Who Sent Tourmaline Diamonds
His words sounded almost like a vow. I smiled, and as I smiled, tears streamed down my face.
Someone on the other end reminded him that the meeting was about to start. He answered and said to me, "I have to go to a meeting now. Be good, Lan Shan."
Suddenly I found myself clinging to that tiniest thread of warmth. Though he had already ended the call, I kept the phone clenched in my hand and could not bear to let go.
But even that last pitiful scrap of hope was to be torn away.
Luo An Ge stood behind me, seething with rage. He snatched the phone from my hand and hurled it out through the window.
I exploded at once, sprang to my feet, and hammered at his chest, yelling without thinking, "Luo An Ge, you damn lunatic, you pervert, you might as well kill me."
But how could I possibly be his match? He seized my wrist, twisted my arm back, and with the air of someone about to strangle me, brushed his hot lips to my ear. "Want to die?"
I tore my hand free from his grip with all my strength, then slammed both palms into his chest.
Yet my half-baked skills were no match for that iron wall of a chest. He did not budge an inch, while I stumbled back several steps and nearly lost my footing, swaying as I caught myself on the coffee table.
He gave a mocking laugh and beckoned. "Again."
Out of the corner of my eye I caught sight of the fruit knife on the coffee table, and suddenly found courage. I seized it and lunged at him.
My father had taught me close-quarters combat, though it was all flashy, empty form. But when I was little I had been clever and mischievous, and somehow invented a few moves of my own. Even my father had once joked that I had opened up my meridians without a teacher.
When I got close, I stepped hard on Luo An Ge's foot, pressed one hand against his shoulder, and thrust with the other.
He smiled faintly, caught my wrist, and tried to force me to drop the knife.
That was exactly what I wanted. I pretended it hurt and let the knife fall, then with the hand resting on his shoulder I snatched it up again. Just as he twisted me around, I was faster, pressing the blade to his carotid artery.
He paused, lifting his brows as he looked at me. "Yi Lan Shan, think carefully. Do you really have the nerve for this?"
I did not dare be careless. The gap in strength between us was far too great, and I had to be cautious at every step if I wanted to avoid dying in an ugly way.
I tightened my grip slightly. "Luo An Ge, I have endured again and again, but you keep forcing me. Since this ends only in death, I don't mind dragging you down with me. I don't mind being the fish that dies."
He gave a cold laugh. "The last time, you already tried. You should know you don't have the ability to hurt me."
I laughed too. "Yes, I can't hurt you. But if you force me again, I'll die in front of you."
His breathing finally quickened, and his voice rose. "Yi Lan Shan, don't push it too far."
I had long since cast caution aside. "Luo An Ge, yes, I was the one who harmed Mu Ying, but I have already paid for it. What more do you want? What gives you the right to shout at me? What gives you the right to bully me again and again? There are so many beautiful women outside waiting to serve you. What gives you the right to force me?"
We remained locked in stalemate. He was much taller than I was, and I had to rise onto my toes just to reach his neck. The hand holding the knife was already aching.
He looked at me. "Yi Lan Shan, then why do you think I would obediently let you boss me around? Is it because I'm interested in your body, or because..."
Without warning, I suddenly raised my hand and slapped him.
"Say one more word, you filthy pervert, and try me!" I shouted at him.
He did not move, not even a tilt of his face, only stared at me. "Since you speak of serving, and since you say that Luo Cong Xuan taught you so much, then I should like to see how you please a man. If you can satisfy me, perhaps I might consider letting Luo Cong Xuan come back. Otherwise, you'd better be prepared..."
My heart lurched. "Luo An Ge, what did you do to him?"
