Chapter Seventy-Eight: My Younger Brother Is Ill (Third Update)
A human did this? Is this really something a person could do? How could any sane person possibly pull this off? That sofa must weigh at least several hundred pounds, and yet he just picked it up and swung it around like a club? The dozen or so thugs who rushed him were all sent flying—by a sofa! Yes, you heard right, a sofa! Who would believe it if you told them?
"This guy... he's terrifying!" Huang Qinhui had already made up his mind—he would absolutely, positively never cross Qin Tian again! Maybe for someone like Qiu Yindang, with an uncle among the Four Dragons of the Capital backing him, he’d still dare to challenge Qin Tian. But Huang Qinhui was different; after years of hard work, he had always relied on himself—he was his own greatest support. But what good was that background, when facing someone like Qin Tian, who might someday stand atop the martial world? It was useless!
"You... don’t come any closer!" Qiu Yindang’s legs had turned to jelly as he watched Qin Tian approach, step by step. This guy was a monster—no, a devil!
"Somebody! Protect me! I’ll give anyone who does ten million!" Qiu Yindang screamed desperately.
Ten million was a tempting sum, but all the thugs were already incapacitated, willing but unable.
"Ten million? You’ll give ten million to whoever protects you?" Qin Tian stared him down.
"Yes, that’s right," Qiu Yindang stammered, terrified out of his wits.
"Alright then, give me the ten million. I’ll protect you," Qin Tian’s fierce look faded, replaced by a smile.
"Wha... what?" Qiu Yindang thought he’d misheard.
"If I don’t beat you up, doesn’t that count as protecting you? So shouldn’t you keep your promise and hand over the ten million?" Qin Tian asked.
Qiu Yindang actually thought about it seriously and realized it sort of made sense. If he didn’t give Qin Tian the money, he’d get beaten up; if he did, he wouldn’t. Wait, something about this felt off—wasn’t this just extortion?
But Qiu Yindang was truly afraid of pain. Ten million was pocket change to him; so be it.
"Fine! I’ll give you the money! Just don’t hit me!" Qiu Yindang gritted his teeth and nodded.
"That’s more like it!" Qin Tian grinned broadly. Earning ten million so easily—it was like picking it up off the street! Too easy!
"By the way, I might come around to beat you up again in the future, so you’d better keep more money on hand," Qin Tian mused. When he ran out of cash, maybe he could just pretend to beat up this fool again and make him pay for a beating he’d never get.
It might verge on extortion, but with idiots like this, Qin Tian didn’t feel the slightest guilt. Some people simply didn’t deserve the protection of morality.
"Huh?" Qiu Yindang’s eyes went wide. Was this for real? He was being treated like a personal ATM!
"Alright, so you’re Qiu Yindang, right?" By now, Qin Tian didn’t even need to guess.
"Yes, that’s me." Qiu Yindang nodded. He didn’t dare mention his powerful uncle again—Qin Tian just wasn’t afraid!
"Qiu Yindang... Yindang... What a name. They really gave you a doozy," Qin Tian shook his head and left the presidential suite with a sigh.
As soon as Qin Tian was gone, Tang Yiliu and the others rushed to Qiu Yindang’s side, fussing over whether he was hurt or frightened.
"You bunch of useless idiots! You just stood there and watched me get beaten up?" Qiu Yindang glared at them, then sighed helplessly. With someone as terrifying as Qin Tian, these weaklings would have just thrown their lives away.
Tang Yiliu and his group were embarrassed; even twenty bodyguards were no match for Qin Tian—what use would they be? Only Huang Qinhui might last a few rounds.
But their plan had failed. Qiu Yindang hadn’t managed to cripple Qin Tian, so they couldn’t gauge the Griffin family’s true stance toward him.
However, what Tang Yiliu and the others didn’t know was that Huang Qinhui, after witnessing the fight, was certain the Griffin family genuinely wanted to befriend Qin Tian. Who wouldn’t want to recruit such a martial prodigy?
Still, Huang Qinhui had no intention of telling Tang Yiliu and the others. The four of them might be allied for now, but their rivalry ran deep. Huang Qinhui was happy to see them suffer setbacks.
People really ought to mind their own business. Giving a warning is a favor; not giving one is simply your right. Isn’t that how it is?
"I won’t let him off! Looks like I’ll have to ask my uncle to step in," Qiu Yindang narrowed his eyes.
At the mention of Qiu Yindang’s uncle, Tang Yiliu and the others shuddered involuntarily. That man was on the same level as the Griffin family—a force to be reckoned with!
Back in the days of the great battle between the underworld and the mysterious organization, the Four Dragons of the Capital were the ones who emerged with their strength intact. Each dragon was not only immensely powerful themselves but commanded legions of experts.
Economically, they controlled resources across many regions, from small factories to publicly listed companies—there wasn’t an industry they didn’t have a hand in.
"Jiang Zhengye." Displeased, Qiu Yindang now addressed them all by name.
"Yes, sir," Jiang Zhengye approached, head lowered.
"Arrange it. The matter with Mi Xue must be settled tonight! Or I’ll go mad with frustration!" Qiu Yindang ordered.
He’d been holding in his rage all day and needed somewhere to vent.
"Um... The Imperial Hotel isn’t mine anymore," Jiang Zhengye answered awkwardly.
"But the people inside still listen to you, right? Get a few quick, tight-lipped hands to take care of it tonight. I’ll reward you handsomely," Qiu Yindang said.
"Mi Xue is a bit of a celebrity. If anything were to happen..." Jiang Zhengye hesitated, unease written all over his face.
"Isn’t your Imperial Group moving into the tile business? How about this: I’ll talk to my uncle and get your tiles into the Capital," Qiu Yindang offered.
"Really?" Jiang Zhengye’s eyes grew wide. If they could enter the Capital’s market, Imperial Group’s profits would soar!
And with Qiu Lang’s backing, their path forward would be smooth.
"Deal! I’m in!" Jiang Zhengye agreed with a determined nod. How could he refuse such a golden opportunity? To turn it down would be to invite disaster!
Tang Yiliu and the others looked at Jiang Zhengye enviously. Why didn’t luck like this ever fall on them?
"Alright, everyone out," Qiu Yindang waved them away.
"Aren’t you coming down? Your welcome banquet’s about to start," Tang Yiliu asked.
"I’ll be down soon. Stomach’s upset—need the bathroom," Qiu Yindang replied.
Tang Yiliu nodded without suspicion and left with Huang Qinhui and the rest.
Qiu Yindang poked his head out the door, and once he saw them enter the elevator, quickly shut and locked it behind them. Then he hurried to the bathroom, locked that door too, and finally—
He took off his pants...
Qiu Yindang looked down at the limp, lifeless thing below, his face full of worry. Damn, his little brother was sick!
It must have been when he was about to force himself on that waitress, and Qin Tian’s sudden entrance scared it senseless!
