Chapter Eighty-Nine: The Car Exploded
“Can you turn around?” Lu Dongmei said, blushing as she looked back at Qin Tian while facing away from him.
Qin Tian shrugged and simply opened the door and left the ward. Lu Dongmei’s illness had already been cured, so there was no reason for him to stay.
Just as Qin Tian opened the door, Xue Beiping rushed in. Seeing Lu Dongmei with only her undergarments on her upper body, his expression changed at once, and he hurried over.
“Mei, did that little beast take liberties with you?” Xue Beiping asked, his mind instantly going in the wrong direction when he saw Lu Dongmei’s flushed face.
“No, it seems he really cured me,” Lu Dongmei said.
“Really cured? It doesn’t hurt anymore?” Xue Beiping was stunned for a moment, then reached out and squeezed her chest.
“Disgusting! The door is open!” Lu Dongmei said, blushing as she slapped his hand away, then hurriedly put on her outer clothes.
Xue Beiping also quickly ran to the doorway, shut the door, and locked it.
“If I pinch you like this, it doesn’t hurt?” he asked.
“Mm, not at all,” Lu Dongmei nodded.
Xue Beiping’s eyes widened, and then he was overwhelmed with joy. He nearly shouted aloud.
Because of Lu Dongmei’s illness, they had never been able to enjoy intimacy properly. Now that she was cured, their marriage would surely warm up again!
Thinking of that, Xue Beiping smiled with contentment, and his regard for Qin Tian rose considerably.
“That sleazy grin on your face says you’re definitely thinking something filthy!” Lu Dongmei shot him a glare.
“Heh heh, honey, some things at home are about to expire. Shouldn’t we hurry up and use them?” Xue Beiping said with a wicked smile.
“Then maybe we shouldn’t use those things at all? If Rongrong gets married off, how about we have another child?” Lu Dongmei said suddenly.
Xue Beiping froze, his face full of surprise, unable to understand how Lu Dongmei could have come up with such an idea.
“We promised something, so we should keep our word. Qin Tian really does have some skill. Since he cured my illness, I won’t interfere anymore with Rongrong and that boy Jiang Fu’an.”
“Still, if Rongrong gets married, the house will suddenly have one less person, and it’ll feel a bit strange. Why don’t we just have another one ourselves?” Lu Dongmei explained.
“Sure! Let’s go for a checkup later!” Xue Beiping nodded. He doted on Lu Dongmei to no end. As long as her body still allowed her to conceive, having another child would be fine; they could easily afford the expenses of a newborn.
Qin Tian returned to the ward where Xue Xiaorong was staying. Just as he appeared at the door, Jiang Fu’an rushed up and asked anxiously, “How is it? Is she cured?”
Qin Tian smiled without speaking.
“Say something! Is she cured or not?” Jiang Fu’an was nearly frantic.
“Best wishes for your early marriage,” Qin Tian said with a smile.
“What marriage? I’m asking you whether it’s cured—” Halfway through, Jiang Fu’an finally realized what Qin Tian meant.
“She’s cured? My God! That’s wonderful! Hahahaha! Qin Tian, thank you!” Jiang Fu’an was so excited he bounced up and down, as happy as a twenty-four-year-old child.
“When the time comes, don’t forget to invite me to the wedding feast,” Qin Tian said, pleased for him.
“Of course! Wedding candies and wedding wine—nothing can be left out!” Jiang Fu’an nodded vigorously, then ran to Xue Xiaorong’s side.
“Rongrong, did you hear that? I can marry you right away! Your parents won’t stop us anymore!” Jiang Fu’an said, holding Xue Xiaorong’s hand.
Because of excessive blood loss, Xue Xiaorong had remained unconscious, but at that very moment, her eyelids suddenly fluttered, and her fingers curled slightly. She had actually responded.
“I’ll go get the doctor!” Jiang Fu’an exclaimed, eyes wide, and immediately ran out.
Soon, the doctor arrived. By the time the doctor got there, Xue Xiaorong had already woken up, which made Jiang Fu’an almost delirious with joy.
The doctor carefully examined Xue Xiaorong and nodded slightly. Her condition had recovered well.
“Rongrong, your parents won’t stop us from being together anymore!” Jiang Fu’an explained the whole story to Xue Xiaorong.
After hearing it all, and at her strong insistence, Jiang Fu’an helped her sit up, and she solemnly thanked Qin Tian.
Qin Tian accepted her gratitude with ease. At times like this, there was no need for false modesty; otherwise, it might only make the other side feel uneasy.
“Brother Qin Lei, I really can’t tell—your medical skill is like cheating. An illness that no one else could cure, and you just fixed it in one shot,” Shen Xiaoqing said in a coquettish tone from the side.
“Stop copying Nangong Xiaoe,” Qin Tian said, feeling a chill run through him.
Heh heh, Shen Xiaoqing blinked and smiled.
Qin Tian looked at Jiang Yingying beside him. Jiang Yingying snorted softly and turned her head away.
Jiang Tianxiang watched from the side, smiling without speaking.
After settling Jiang Fu’an’s matter, Jiang Tianxiang left first and went straight to the company.
Qin Tian, Jiang Yingying, and Shen Xiaoqing also prepared to take their leave, while Jiang Fu’an planned to stay a little longer and keep Xue Xiaorong company.
Just before departing, Xue Beiping chased after them and thanked Qin Tian again on Lu Dongmei’s behalf.
Because the treatment had been rather awkward, and because Lu Dongmei had previously been at odds with Qin Tian, she could not bring herself to thank him in person, so she had to ask Xue Beiping to do it.
“I can cure Manager Lu’s illness, and I can also make it relapse again. So don’t let me hear that you’re making things difficult for Jiang Fu’an,” Qin Tian warned.
The thinking of wealthy people was not the same as ordinary people’s. Qin Tian would merely turn around, and they might go back to bullying Jiang Fu’an.
“We wouldn’t do that. We’re very faithful to our promises,” Xue Beiping said quickly.
“That’s best,” Qin Tian said, then led Jiang Yingying and Shen Xiaoqing toward the parking lot.
When they reached the lot, Qin Tian stood at the entrance and searched himself over and over, only to discover that the car key seemed to be missing.
“Yingying, do you have the car key?” Qin Tian asked.
“You’re the one who was holding it. How could it be with me?” Jiang Yingying said, baffled.
“Damn, maybe I dropped it. Let’s go back and look for it,” Qin Tian said.
Jiang Yingying was speechless. Qin Tian really was hopelessly absent-minded. But without the car key, they couldn’t get home, so they had no choice but to turn back.
Not long after they turned around, a thunderous blast suddenly erupted behind them.
Boom.
Fire soared over the parking lot, and a pungent smell of smoke rolled toward them on the wind.
Qin Tian turned back, stunned.
That car was theirs. At that moment, it was already engulfed in raging flames.
Shen Xiaoqing and Jiang Yingying also saw what had happened.
The three exchanged glances, each breaking out in a cold sweat.
If Qin Tian had found the car key just a moment sooner, they would already have been in the car. The consequences would have been unimaginable.
